A very special type of writer's block, one that I excel at. It's the lingering apathetic whinging sort of writer's block. You know what needs to happen, you could write it in your sleep. However, a cloud of blank, mind numbing apathy keeps you staring at the infuriating blinking line of your document that eggs you on. When your editor says, "Just write a page" you know exactly how to fill that page, but your shoulder lifts and drops and you make a wavering "eeehhhnn" and continue staring blankly into space.
I'd continue to make more analogies, but I'm afraid they'd steer towards "It's like during Bedroom Time when your One wants to be romantic and-"
</HORRIBLE THINGS CENSORED HERE.>
Anyway, about halfway through this next chapter I've developed this exciting apathy towards a chapter I've been giddy about all along. I've been excusing the apathy by pointing at all the things I need to work on that I get paid for working on and saying "Wow, isn't it lucky that you can't write the silly fanfic. Go work on your fucking career-work-life-stuff." and then I sigh, and look at apartments and coo longingly instead. Or I go to Imgur.
Anywho, in place of working on anything of significance, I'm instead writing a blog. And to pretend it's at all relevant, we'll talk a bit about: FOX'S WEIRD GRIFFON HEADCANON.
But will there be pictures, Fox?
I. I mean. Fuck, I dunno. Yes. Probably. They'll be added in at some point. Mostly this is for me to be like "Hey, I'm setting this shit in stone!" so I can't wibble wobble about it later. For now, enjoy some history of Griffons, and hints at the different clans.
Griffons
>A society of independent clans that live throughout the regions of Eyrie; a land past the boundaries of Equestria.
>Each clan has multiple tribes and cities throughout its territory (In general). Each clan has an 'Elder' who acts as its representative and general ruler.
>Of the Elders, one is voted to be the 'Benu'; the High Elder whom all the clans must honor. While honored as the Benu, the griffon's clan is also considered in higher esteem.
>Often at war with one another; fighting over desirable land, differing opinions, and the desire for the Benu status. Conflicts culminated in the Great Griffon Wars. In that, the Rocs usurped the Benu and claimed the title as theirs, using their greater numbers and alliance with other nations to beat the smaller, insular clans into submission in order to quell the centuries of squabbling. Territories were exchanged, and smaller clans separated and scattered far from their original lands.
> The Second Griffon Wars happened about half a century before current story time. Equestria was called in to help negotiate peace...
> Rocs remain the largest clan, and claim the Benu title and dominance over the other clans.
The Clans:
The Rocs:
Eagle-headed lions, they are one of the largest types of griffons, and certainly the most populous. Because of their industrious exploration and treaty making, they are the main contact Equestria has had with griffons, to the point that ponies believe they are the ONLY kind of griffon. The Rocs are the griffons shown in the canon show. Muse notes that disappointingly there are not in fact any clans known as "Pebble".
The Nasr: Nothing currently known!
The Nekhen: Nothing currently known!
The Hafoc: Nothing currently known!
The Nisos: Nothing currently known!
The Strix: Nothing currently known!
I have the exact opposite problem. I have no idea what to write, but when I just go for it, words come out.
