Closing the Account (UPDATE: But apparently not)

I'm sorry to say this, as I know I have many watchers, some of which are still hoping I rise from the dead and complete the stories I have. Unfortunately, I'm making this post to say that isn't going to happen.

    Suddenly, Something

There was once a man. Let's call him 'Pierce' for now. For half a year, he'd been aware of these 'brony' people, and had read up on their memes and common jokes, but not once did Pierce ever actually watch the show. The reason? He was afraid he'd like it. Come late August of 2011, he finally caved; he ended up watching the entire first season in three days, and was waiting eagerly for

    I'm actually getting stuff done!

    :yay:

Anyways, "Darn it, Pavlov!" is finally finished! It only took me, what...like two friggin months to post four chapters. Ugh.
Well, since school's now out of the way, I'm pretty confident in my own abilities to actually get a lot more chapters, not to mention a lot more stories. I have WAY too many ideas shoved inside my head, so let's just see how this summer will go for me!

Time really sneaks up on ya

Sorry everyone, but Xenoblade Chronicles is released tomorrow--*looks at clock*--er, today, so you shouldn't expect anything new anytime soon.

Closing the Account (UPDATE: But apparently not) · 1:00am Feb 10th, 2014

I'm sorry to say this, as I know I have many watchers, some of which are still hoping I rise from the dead and complete the stories I have. Unfortunately, I'm making this post to say that isn't going to happen.

In one week I'm deleting this account and everything in it. The only reason I'm giving this week's notice is for people who enjoy the chapters available to download them if they so wish (mainly, just the Pavlov on considering it's the only finished story I have). You may be wondering why I'm doing this, so I'll give a few reasons; one, as much as I love writing, I cannot keep to a schedule and as such am unable to find time to actually complete a story; two, now that I'm in college, there are simply more important things for me to focus on; three, I don't enjoy having this stain on my record existing here (by that I mean the three unfinished stories). Perhaps one day, out of some miracle, I'll come back to FiMFiction, but it's unlikely. I know I'm letting a lot of people down by doing this, and I am sorry, but remember that I too have a life which takes priority over the Internet. Delta out.

EDIT: So, some of you bring up some good points, and despite all the other things I have to do everyday, coming back on here just to say "goodbye" has made the fanfic node in my brain itch, so while it's not likely I'll ever release another fanfic, it's also not impossible. Instead of making a new account like I planned if I ever did write again, I've just changed around this one; new name, new avatar, and I removed all my unfinished fanfics because I know I'll never finish them anyways. I'm touched that people actually want me to stay, even though I haven't been active for, like, two years or more. I would just like to thank you people; it's guys like you that made me write in the first place.

Well, I suppose I can't stop you, but doesn't this seem a little overboard? Keeping it here and letting it accrue dust doesn't seem like it'd negatively affect you in any way, unless you think "he lost his muse on this story" (something every writer is afflicted with). I'm in college too, and I still find time here and there between my social life to check up on poni. Hell, I've seen people gone since 2012 dust off their old fimfic accounts to start back up stuff recently.

What I'm trying to say, there's no harm with just putting your unfinished stories on "cancelled," turning off notifications, and leaving it be. Deleting it seems a little too much for some harmless words.

Please don't close the account. I know of hundreds that are simply left dead on fanfiction.net, and I don't think any less of whoever they are because they either gave up, became too busy or died in a freak laundry accident before they could update their profile about attempting do laundry with a flamethrower...

At the very least, leave your stories behind to give inspiration to other writers.

Also, I like using my favorites list to keep track of how much I've read.

Just dump the unfinished ones and leave the finished one.

I suppose I can't stop you, but I don't think it's necessary to outright delete your account. I'm of the same mind as Poptard here. There's nothing wrong with setting the stories to "cancelled" and letting them gather dust. Fanfiction sites aren't like Facebook or something. Employers aren't going to track down your FiMFiction account and say "OMG HE DIDN'T FINISH HIS FANFICS, BETTER NOT HIRE THIS GUY."

I must admit, I also don't really understand the mindset behind deleting stories just because you're unable to continue writing them. It harms nothing leaving them online for others to enjoy, and will bring enjoyment to others in the future. Just mark the unfinished ones as cancelled and nobody will be left with false hope.

Aww... Why not just let it sit? You have at least one good and complete story in there. Why not leave it be for future fans to enjoy!

Ya gotta do what you gotta do, but I'm with the majority here who would vote that you don't un-post if you can help it.

In either case, thanks for some good words, and hope to see you back.

I don't know why I received this notification, but what the hell: I too am with the other guys on NOT deleting the account, since it's really kinda pointless for you to do so while inconveniencing the guys that have Pavlov in their favorites and might wanna read it again further down the road.

As for the unfinished fics, just cancel them, or hell open up the window for another writer to continue them.

PS: Oh Jesus what the hell happened to me 3 weeks ago? :facehoof:

Since you'll be deleting the account regardles of what we tell you(But I also think its not useful). I would like to ask you something about your finished story: Can we (the bronies or other followers) repost your story in other sites and/or make derivative works like readings and or fanart of your story?

Hey that's awesome! Glad we managed to change your mind
