Monthly Update: Night-owl Edition · 3:51am Feb 5th, 2014

Although it's really not that late, if you consider how late I've been up.... lately.

This month's monthly update is early. Partially because I couldn't think of anything else to do before bed, and partly because I don't know when I will think to do it besides right now.

The work on the Visionary Improvement Project continues, and has slightly intensified. Through talks with [classified] and [other classified], I have finally decided on which order to do certain things, which were previously holding me back. Now that they are not, and have not been for nearly a week, I am pleased to announce a progress of roughly 20k words worth of actual content, and an estimated 12k more of just plain old notes and shit.

It's definitely still fun to write, though certain things are proving more difficult to put into words than I anticipated. Still, a weekend or two should sort out what minor knots have arisen in the yarn I am trying to spin. Behold my pun.

In other news besides story news: I continue to despise ranked solo queue in LoL, the DayZ standalone alpha is fun, but mega glitchy (implied by 'alpha'), and work continues to vary concerning how much work it actually is. My car troubles seem to be over, for the time being, and my financial troubles are slowly but surely being minimized. The holidays really and truly killed me in that regard.

Work on the first project for Cavalry Studios is expected to begin again in full force, resuming after a lengthy holiday break in which all or most involved parties simply didn't have the time. The project, officially now called "Children of Skytree," should see some major development in the near future in terms of story, concept artwork, and as always a stirring OST by Socratic Brony. I also have no qualms mentioning that it is intended to have a fully animated pilot (roughly five minutes) at the very least, though we have not yet contacted or been contacted by any animators, as we are currently still building up the base of the project to give just such an artist enough to work with.

Any and all work following the pilot, when it is finished, is entirely dependent on the reaction to the pilot, which will still be a long while off. After all, we're not a major studio with a project budget: we're an independent studio held together by the fact that we refer to ourselves as a studio, so it would be crowd funding that would make the project a major success, if and when it comes to that. We certainly won't be asking for donations without having something to show for it, so for now the best favor you can do for the studio is to remain mildly interested, and to freak out over the pilot when it releases. No, we do not have an estimated deadline yet, deadlines are for efficient people.

If you have any questions, ask them. If I bored you, you probably didn't get this far. Looking forward to another month of hard work, in one aspect of life or another.

Best regards,
Aaron.

Carpe Noctum!

But seriously though, it's good that things are looking up for you. Let me know if you need any help with plot for the Children of Skytree. Even if it's nothing more than asking 'is this stupid'.
Good luck with stuff and things, mate.

We've registered for both Facebook and Google+ already, and I believe we have Twitter and Tumblr set up as well, though they don't yet do anything. Glad to see you still so interested! It's been a while, and to be honest I think dropping a line is one of my favorite parts of the month as well. :twilightsheepish:
