Achievement Unlocked: Accepted to EQD! · 10:35pm Feb 2nd, 2014
I received the acceptance email for The Furthest From the Tree over an hour ago, but my mood can still best be described as:

The story should be going live on EQD in the next 1-2 days, so be on the look out for it! Now, I know this is going to sound like an Academy Awards speech, but I'll have to beg your patience while I have a bit of a *squee* moment here. XD
Seriously though, when I first joined this site last Summer, I had been a brony for barely six months, and I had never written a word of fiction in my life. Heck, I was not even remotely aware that fan-fiction for MLP even existed, but once I found FimFic, the quality and variety here blew me away. A ton of encouragement from others convinced me to try my hand at writing my own stuff, and I am so glad that I did. It's been a hell of a ride so far, and I've met some awesome people in the process.
I know that EQD is a topic of debate around this site, but it was always on my "writer's bucket list". I'm thrilled to have made it, though I'm shocked that it has happened so soon. Still, this is one of those few times in life where I feel like I really accomplished something meaningful for myself. :)
So, thank you to everyone who read, favorited, and/or commented on The Furthest From the Tree, or any of my other fics. Your feedback and input have been worth their weight in gold. Special thanks to Cerulean Voice for his feedback, via his Las Pegasus Tribune article. And a very special thanks to Loyal2-1, who is teaching me more about writing than he's probably aware of, and has become a good friend in the process. :)
