As of now, I'm officially putting Mares of Tomorrow on hiatus.
This isn't something I decided to do lightly. But I'm finding that it wasn't smart to jump headfirst into writing a second multi-chapter story. For one, the inspiration I got to write it was so immediate that I began without fully fleshing out a large portion of the middle and end. So I'm left with a story that has a lot of potential, but not a good idea of where I want to go with it. Character backgrounds have large holes in them. Basically, it'd be a mess to continue with what I have.
Second... I simply don't have the time to juggle two long adventure stories while also dealing with college, work, and my other hobbies. This also ties into diving into things too quickly: I didn't plan my time well.
This doesn't mean I'm giving up on the story completely. As new ideas form in my head, I'll write them down and use them when I come back to it. This way I'll be fully prepared and have the means of making it the best story it can possibly be.
I'm doing this with a heavy heart, guys. I know a lot of you really liked the potential this story had. I can only apologize and hope you'll pick it back up when I decide to return to it. In the meantime, though, I'll be working on my other story, Of High Seas and Howling Winds, quite a bit. Hopefully, if college doesn't get too crazy, I'll be able to update it on a regular basis. If you haven't read it yet, you should. I've worked really hard on it.
I think your ideas for adventure are cool. I am perfectly fine enjoying OHSaHW to the end, before you work on your next story. Good luck with the writing.
Don't worry about it, better to have it post-poned and have it done properly, than to have a half-assed job done of it.
