Plans for the coming weeks/months · 9:22pm Jan 6th, 2014
Hey everyone!
I decided to make a blogpost because... well, the last one was sort of depressing to look at. Sure, 2013 wasn't the best year, and I haven't exactly started 2014 in the best fashion so far (I've already had a complete breakdown twice), but I've got some stuff I want to share.
First off, Traveler's Exile will be a while. I'm feeling super crappy lately, and my heart just isn't in that story right now. That'll probably change when I'm done with the exams of this week, or possibly the couple of project-filled weeks that follow.
In the meantime however, the latest episode gave me some great inspiration! I'm thinking of writing another episode-style series, following Coco Pommel. I can't help it, she's just so cute! I don't think I've loved a pony with a minor role this quickly before. I'm not exactly sure what the other characters are going to be, but I have a fun idea for a changeling that'll probably work quite well in this setting. If you liked MLC:FiW, chances are you'll like that as well, I think.
Additionally, I'm working on D&D, like I said. I'm the guy who commands everyone to die, otherwise known as the dungeon master, and I'm working on making my own campaign. It's more fun than I imagined! I only have to design the chambers and loot for my first dungeon and then I'm going to run it for testing. My players are in for quite a surprise, as there are going to be some special monsters they haven't dealt with yet... This is going to be fun.
Lastly, do you guys even know how gosh-dang cute ferrets are? We renamed my pet ferret Slinky, as Will didn't sound all that well when you're constantly talking Dutch. It just didn't feel right. The guy is such a sweet little thing! He sleeps all the time, and whenever he's in my room, he crawls onto my couch and curls up in an old set of pants I keep laying around. He even slept in the pocket earlier. I could've just slipped into those pants and lugged him around. He's also really nice to people, everyone who has met him so far absolutely loves him, and he's really taking a shine to me. Really helps get through some tough spots.
So, uh, yeah. Don't worry about me, I'm just going through a rough time right now. It'll probably be over when I'm done with these tests. I just feel kinda crappy, having all this holiday time to write, and ultimately not being able to deliver anything. Plus, feeling super stressed about tests for no logical reason. Which also upsets me, because I dislike illogical reasoning. Just lots of being upsetness right now, should change soon.
Oh also Bravely Default's ending sequence is absolutely genius and you should get it if you like old-school Final Fantasy and want to see some great writing and voice acting.
Breakdown? What are you, some sort of machine?
Machines and computers have breakdowns, humans have setbacks and depressions.
And the only thing keeping us down is ourselves!
I say, if you're having troubles with your life, do something!
Don't just sit there feeling sad! Because you're a human, I'm a human, we're all humans!
And we have control over ourselves!
Sorry, that was my sorry attempt at an encouraging speech or something.
Well, I'll make you the same offer that I made other authors.
If there is a way I can help you, just ask and I'll do what I can.
Awww, don't be sad, just keep cuddling with your ferret.
Take your time, soon enough the words will force their way out anyway. It's nice to hear you got a good ferret, they can get really mean if not raised well.
1689780 Actually, the sad thing is, I don't have control over myself
But it's the attempt that counts, not the speech itself. Thank you!
