An Informal Study of Romance begins to come together (slight, avoidable spoilers inside) · 6:17am Dec 31st, 2013
Now that the crazy holiday work hours are mostly behind me, I'm going to attempt to plow full steam into this sequel project again.
I was planning to complete the story (or at least up through the last couple chapters) before posting any of it, but with the outline becoming more and more solid, I don't think there will be any need for any additional edits to the first three chapters (or at least the first two). Chapter 3 is done and I am finally happy with it and while Chapter 4 is only barely started, I have a firm idea of the direction the story is going.
The other obstacle to posting is the cover art. Originally, I was thinking of commissioning a piece, and I may still do so, but I thought I'd at least try my hand at photoshopping something together first. This is only a portion of the total cover art, but I think it came out rather well so far. (Slight Spoilers)
To give you some context, here's a preview snippet:
“We’ll need a disguise.” Pinkie noted, while sliding out of her catsuit.
Twilight unsuited herself, too dazed to argue that they had already been wearing disguises, and found a pink hoof pressing something onto her formerly bare muzzle. Pinkie stuffed the suits into a nearby flower cart, left unattended by a street vendor, and produced a hoof mirror from her mane. She scooted up next to Twilight so they could check their new disguises.
Pinkie had outfitted her upper lip with a curly black handlebar mustache, and her left eye with a gleaming gold monocle. Twilight’s muzzle now sported a prench-cut mustache and goatee that matched her mane and tail, even down to the off-center pink and purple stripes.
“Perfect!” Pinkie grinned from behind the fake facial hair, rubbing her forehooves together.
Regarding your photoshopped cover art: Arr. Twibeard, menace of the Caribbayan Sea! She's an evil pirate, and she'll lock in stocks, so you better give 'er plunder when she comes 'n knocks!

Glad to see you've gotten some more time to write. Will you be putting up chapters 2 and 3 at the same time, or separately?

I haven't decided on an exact posting schedule for the story yet. I'll probably post a chapter every few days until I run out (so either three or four chapters depending), then publish the rest as they get done, but nothing is set in stone.
I do want to start getting it online for various raisins, though.
Wait, will this include Twinkie?
