Memories aren't always the most reliable things, after all.

In Ghost Trick, Sissel was able to keep track of the details in his search for himself with the Record, which since it didn't seem to have much of an in-universe explanation doesn't show in the narrative itself. But that doesn't mean you guys don't have access to it.
