I will not debate with someone who refuses to understand my position.

I am too busy doing part 2 to continue reading anon reviews sent to my FF.net profile that have nothing to do with the reviewed story within the first five words.

Also if your fic uses the anime rules, why does everyone start with 8000 Life Points?

    mSCt3k Epsiode Y: For Yikes!

Hello, everyone! A recent wave of hyperfixation has got me working on a new solo! This still isn't episode 6 (how do my solo riffing projects keep stalling out at episode 6?!), but a "side series" with a special episode number. This mixes something old with something... not exactly new, but few other critics of this author put the focus in the areas I'm capable of focusing, so I'm capable of

    mSCt3k notification

For those wondering, yes, I am going to do riffs for part 3 and 4 of "End of Ends Riff." The docs are all set up and everything. It's just been slow to start due to the setup for part 3 being substantially harder than usual. As I said in my end rant for part 2, I'm pulling out all the stops, and I wanted to make sure I'll be doing it correctly (a.k.a. more effort than the TomTom Boys - as

Defect Compiler: Yu-Gi-Oh E-QUEST chapters 1 - 8 · 1:50am May 23rd

*bing boog bing boog*

Hello! I am the Defect Compiler! This is your automated report of all defects found in Yu-Gi-Oh! gameplay in the fanfic listed below, compiled for your convenience.

A "defect" is defined as a violation of the game's rules as presented by both the official rules and card text. Incorrectly listing card names is not considered a defect, nor is incorrectly stating data like Pendulum Scales unless the errorous data has an effect on the Duel (even though stating that misinformation goes against the rule of public knowledge). The use of Forbidden cards is only considered a defect in officially-sanctioned tournament Duels. Anime cards use the Forbidden / Limited list values of their TCG equivalents, if any.

All defects are compiled in chronological order.

Fanfic: Yu-Gi-Oh E-QUEST by Dakari-King Mykan
Chapters: 1 to 8

Ruleset selected: Master Rules 3

Episode 3: Force of Hand
Defects: 2

  1. Turn 4 [Sunset]: "Harmonizing Magician's" effect was used to Special Summon "Timebreaker Magician," who was then placed in Attack Position. The effect of "Harmonizing Magician" specifies that monsters Special Summoned by it are summoned in Defense Position.
  2. Turn 6 [Sunset]: "Timebreaker Magician" is Pendulum Summoned from the Extra Deck. A monster Special Summoned by the effect of "Harmonizing Magician" is banished when it leaves the field. As such, when "Timebreaker Magician" left the field as part of being used as Synchro Material for a Synchro Summon (of "Arcanite Magician") in turn 4, it would be banished and not go to the Extra Deck.

Episode 5: The Birds and the Trees.
Defects: 3

  1. Turn 5 [Tree Hugger]: "Soul Charge" is on the Forbidden list in the TCG Advanced format, and its use is not allowed in tournament play. (Anime cards share the Forbidden / Limited list status of their TCG version, if any.)
  2. Turn 6 [Rainbow Dash]: "Raidraptor - Rudder Strix" is Normal Summoned in face-up Defense Position. No matter how many times the anime may present it, this is not a legal move.
  3. Turn 6 [Rainbow Dash]: "Rank-Up-Magic Soul Shave Force" requires its user pay half their current LP as a cost to activate. Rainbow Dash does not pay this cost.

Episode 6: Part 1: Double Thunder Whammy
Defects: 8

  1. Duel 2, Turn 1 [Pinkie Pie]: "Performapal Monkeyboard" is on the Forbidden list in the TCG Advanced format, and its use is not allowed in tournament play. (Anime cards share the Forbidden / Limited list status of their TCG version, if any.)
  2. Duel 2, Turn 4 [Alizarin Bubblegum]: "Heavy Storm" is on the Forbidden list in the TCG Advanced format, and its use is not allowed in tournament play. (Anime cards share the Forbidden / Limited list status of their TCG version, if any.)
  3. Duel 2, Turn 6 [Alizarin Bubblegum]: The effect of "Wattcannon" can only activate once per turn. It is activated additional times in the same turn. This defect occured this turn in this chapter a total of 3 times.
  4. Duel 2, Turn 6 [Alizarin Bubblegum]: The effect of "Wattcannon" can only be activated by the summoning of a Level 4 or below Thunder monster. It is activated by the summoning of "Wattchimera," a Level 6 monster. This defect occured this turn in this chapter a total of 2 times.
  5. Duel 2, Turn 6 [Alizarin Bubblegum]: If "Wattcannon" were to activate with every summoning of a Thunder monster, as it errorously does in this Duel, when "Wattgiraffe" and "Wattbetta" are Special Summoned by the effect of "De-Synchro," "Wattcannon" only activates once when it should be twice.

Episode 7: Part 2: A Couple of Bolts
Defects: 5

  1. Duel 1, Turn 4 [Sunset Shimmer]: "Pot of Greed" is on the Forbidden list in the TCG Advanced format, and its use is not allowed in tournament play. (Anime cards share the Forbidden / Limited list status of their TCG version, if any.)
  2. Duel 1, Turn 5 [Celery Stalk]: "Graceful Charity" is on the Forbidden list in the TCG Advanced format, and its use is not allowed in tournament play. (Anime cards share the Forbidden / Limited list status of their TCG version, if any.)
  3. Duel 2, Turn 7 [Pinkie Pie]: Pinkie's draw during the Draw Phase of this turn gives her a hand of 8. Tracing the cards in her hand since Card of Sanctity (technically) set her hand to 6 cards, she should only have 7 after drawing this turn.
  4. Duel 2, Turn 7 [Pinkie Pie]: The effect of "Wattcannon" can only activate once per turn. It is activated additional times in the same turn.
  5. Duel 2, Turn 7 [Pinkie Pie]: If "Wattcannon" were to activate with every summoning of a Thunder monster, as it errorously does in this Duel, when two copies of "Wattgiraffe" are Special Summoned by the effect of "Inferno Reckless Summon," "Wattcannon" only activates once when it should be twice.

Episode 8: Reckless Rivalry
Defects: 5

  1. Turn 1 [Rarity]: The effect of "Ostinato" allows the Fusion Summoning of a "Melodious" Fusion Monster using 2 Fusion Materials from the Deck. Rarity uses 5 Fusion Materials. Given analysis shows the author believes 6 is less than or equal to 4, it should be specified that 5 is greater than 2.
  2. Turn 2 [Karle Plight]: "Lunalight Panther Dancer" must be Fusion Summoned with its listed Fusion Materials by its own effect (in this case, "Lunalight Cat Dancer" + 1 "Lunalight" monster). "King of the Swamp" cannot be used to replace "Lunalight Cat Dancer" as a Fusion Material.
  3. Turn 2 [Karle Plight]: The second effect of "De-Fusion" can only be applied if all the Fusion Material Monsters of the targeted monster are in the Graveyard of the player who activated the card (in this case, Karle). As such, "Mozarta the Melodious Maestra" and "Opera the Melodious Diva" cannot be Special Summoned back, as they are not in Karle's Graveyard.
  4. Turn 3 [Rarity]: "Shadow Balance" can only be activated when its trigger happens (in this case, the opponent summons a monster). That means the event must be the LAST thing to happen. However, the effect of "Tamtam the Melodious Diva" is the last thing to happen, which means Karle has missed the timing and cannot activate "Shadow Balance."
  5. Turn 4 [Karle Plight]: "Pot of Greed" is on the Forbidden list in the TCG Advanced format, and its use is not allowed in tournament play. (Anime cards share the Forbidden / Limited list status of their TCG version, if any.)

Total defects: 23

This concludes your automated defect compilation report. As this is an automated report, all replies will be ignored.

Thank you for using Defect Compiler! If you wish to enlist my services in analyzing other Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic, I spy on the FIMFiction.net inbox for "supercomputer276" and can be contacted there. Always remember: if you're going to make Duel Monsters more like the TCG than the anime by starting everyone with 8000 LP, you are in no position to complain when people say you need to follow the TCG's rules! (^^)
