New Episode... SPOILERS · 4:16pm Dec 21st, 2013
Hmm.
Well, it was lot better than I thought it would be, especially considering that I didn't exactly have high hopes for this episode to begin with. It had some great one liners, Pinkie was genuinely funny this time(Tag, you're it! Tag you're it!), and I thought the reasoning behind why the Mane 6 and Spike were able to enter the whole comic-book world in the first place was still acceptable, despite being a tad on the hamfisted side. I guess the little "enchanted comics" joke at the end made up for it.
And the moral... To be honest, the whole issue of Spike kinda being a third wheel to the rest of the Mane 6 has been around since the beginning of the show, and when I saw that they were using this episode to address Spike's insecurities about it, I was pretty stoked. The whole issue did seem to just suddenly be resolved by one quick statement by Twilight near the end, and I thought it felt a little rushed, but when you have to work with such a small timeframe, I still think they did an okay job with it overall.
And Flutterhulk... holy crap. I'm shuddering to think of the fanfics that are going to come about as a result of that one.
Anyways, overall I think it was a good episode. WAAAYYY better than the crap that I thought it was going to be.
I thought it was pretty good too ^.^ though some of the super powers weren't as original as I would have hoped, I really liked Dash's super power. It fit her really well.
Damn, you're probably right, we should run away before the Flutterhulk fanfics start raining down upon us.
