First off, if your story has a more complicated plot than hero fights villain and has more big reveals and hidden conspiracies than Fullmetal Alchemist and it doesn't at least have a ship like TwiDash in it, don't even bother hoping, it will never be featured.
Do not bother if it has anything resembling male on female rape or if it tries to take female on male or female on female rape seriously, too many white knights and people who think only men rape on this site for that to actually work.
The only way a rape fic will ever be featured is if you go the way Rape-Train did. Do not go the way RTE did, that will earn you a permaban. On a side note I really miss him.
If your clop fic has male on female sex ( I don't know why it would be m/f if you are trying to get featured but whatever you might be feeling lucky) do not have the male take a dilldo up the ass, this will put many people off and broad audiences is the name of the game when getting featured.
Do not expect it to happen with less than 300 followers, it can happen RARELY but don't expect it to.
Do not have a m/m ship of any kind, again putting too many people off and you need a broad audience.
Do not bother writing a crossover unless it is of a subpar first person shooter video game or of a low budget british science fiction tv show.
Do not have a futa fucking a male, futa is an off putter and again broad audiences is key.
Do not use strange fetishes, extremely light baby's BDSM and food is fine, just nothing like hoof fetish or things like that.
If you have less than 500 mindless followers, key there is mindless as only mindless idiots that can't think for themselves or are lazy an just want to ride someone's coat tails will write in another author's pony universe, do not try to make your own universe just write in someone else's universe just make sure that they have at least 600 followers and there is a group for it with 300 + members.
Do not write about an alicorn OC, this is a general rule of the site that I expect you follow but if you want to be featured there is an addendum to the rule. If you want to write about an alicorn OC and get featured it can only be be the mary sue mound of protoplasm known as Nix.
And lastly,do not write anything original, if you want to be featured write something that is tried and true.
It is odd how I am seeing this happen to more and more people lately. I am almost at the point of saying that you should just hope for the best, because Hail to the King was a blowaway success, and I got featured with only 20 or so followers. Then again, I have popular friends that could whore me out, so . . .
