I've been writing and selling stories for longer than a lot of folks reading this have been alive. Check Baal Bunny for more!

My Little Hubris · 3:56pm Nov 23rd, 2013

I was all set:

I'd watched Equestria Girls on DVD the night before so I wouldn't hafta wake up at 5:30AM local time to watch it on the Hub, then rose at a leisurely 6:30 to have some breakfast, turn on the TV, and watch the season four premiere. DISH Network had upgraded to the HD feed of the Hub over the summer, and I was ready, ready for the first new dose of Pony since the beginning of the year.

I turn on the TV at 6:50...and it doesn't come on.

That is the say, the TV itself comes on, but the Dish receiver doesn't. "Acquiring signal," it says on the screen.

Five minutes later, it does indeed come on, and I switch to channel 179, see Twilight stepping out of the mirror portal at the end of Equestria Girls--

With no sound. And then the picture freezes and starts flashing.

Which is why I'm typing this instead of watching the end of episode two right now. DISH will be sending me a new box sometime next week.

Guess I'll wait for the iTunes version tomorrow...

Fortunately:

EqD already had a link to a YouTube version, so I'm now caught up, story-wise! :pinkiehappy:

Anyone who believes in an uncaring universe needs to account for moments like this, when the fate takes all too obvious enjoyment in screwing with the best-laid plans of mice, ponies and men.

How did you like the episodes, then?

I always recall:

The way Robert Benchley refers to Fate as "that saucy minx" in one of his columns...

As for the episodes, the short version is: I quite enjoyed them. The long version might call for a separate blog post. :pinkiehappy:
