On the Study and Application of Advanced Carnal Magic

Strange how the similar section on fimfiction and the stories within already know what I am publishing, given their recommendations.

I will have a new story up tomorrow! One of three planned for the immediate future. I'll likely have to post it while I am at work, as I am mentally enslaved to post stories at a very specific time in the day. I've titled this blog post--

    They Always Come Back...

    This is... a little awkward.

For the sake of being concise, I am going to try and keep this blog short short, which is not something I am very good at doing. I don’t talk at all in real life, and on the internet I talk far too much.

    untitled

I have no idea what I’m doing right now.

The cavalcade of thoughts I’ve gone through in the last hour were as varied as the types of sand. Pipe wrenches, garbage, books, family, screaming, job searching, Dunbar’s number, grilling, cats, soul-crushing apathy and anxiety, debts, arguments, swearing. A lot of things in a short amount of time.

Reader Poll: The SCP Foundation · 10:32am Nov 12th, 2013

Well this turned out to be a bit of a surprise. After this Halloween, the underdog kicked the rest of the competition in the teeth and became one of my highest-rated stories. I'm thrilled people like it, even if it makes me scratch my head as to why people liked it so much.

However, there is much to discuss. SCP-009 is not the first or last SCP-entry I have created. I recently posted a snippet of another dossier of mine and I have that SCP story that I plan on fixing. Sometime. The point is, I have more dossiers for you. I am here to poll for opinions pertaining to how my readers want them.

If you do not like the stories or mythos, this doesn't concern you. For those that do, my question for you is this: how do you want them? Do you want them as a series of one-shots, enforcing the episodic and lack of a continuity generally associated with the SCP stories and creepypastas?

Or perhaps you would like me to post more chapters onto SCP-███? Should I reconstruct SCP-███ to blanket all my dossiers? Each chapter being a new and unique story?

Or perhaps I should focus my attention on Site-16: The Tartarus Gate and work with the formula I had been using there? Publishing a dossier intermittently after each chapter?

The choice is yours. In the comments, I have the three previous entries published by yours truly. The general formula applies: thumb up entries you like, do so for however many you like, and thumbs down will be ignored. However, I am not restricting your choices to just these. If you have a better idea, I am always willing to listen. The same goes if you need clarification on any matter. I love talking to fans.

After all, if you want me to bring on the creepy, I am more than willing to oblige. Because if you think what you have seen is all I have to offer, you are grievously mistaken.

Item #: SCP-616

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: The object in question must be kept in a secure storage container at Sector-7 when not undergoing research. The object must always be placed front cover facing up on a one (1) meter tall pedestal in the center of the otherwise barren room. Four (4) separate feeds observe the item at all times by no less than four (4) security guards. Should the item in question display any qualities or traits of note, the incident is to be cataloged and site security alerted. Should the subject SCP-616 is bound to perish and the item vanish, the Foundation shall use all available resources to investigate any serious, violent, and/or unusual crimes since the item’s disappearance. Special attention should be payed to deadly and gruesome crimes.

Note from Dr. Freya: Seriously, the bloodier the better. Subjects that read this thing aren’t known for their restraint or self control.

Addendum 873-1: I wonder if there is any means possible to weaponize SCP-223-EX to terminate more dangerous SCP subjects. We may have quite the death ray on our hooves. Just think of the possibilities.
~Dr. Salizar

Addendum 873-2: [DATA EXPUNGED]

Addendum 873-3: Doctor Salizar is barred from further experimentation with SCP-223-EX.
~Site Director Belladona

Addendum 873-4: Doctor Salizar is also forbidden from requesting anypony or anyone to do anything with SCP-223-EX ever.
~Site Director Belladona

Item #: SCP-1312

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-1312 is contained within a 10x10x30 meter acrylic glass tank in Site ██. Water is to be constantly cycled through a fixed array of filters to remove any contaminants. Each glass face is laced with an alert spell tied to the chamber’s blast doors the tank is placed inside. Should the glass break or crack, the enchantment will command the blast doors to seal in order to contain the water.

SCP-1312’s tank is to be inspected for wear and damage monthly. Water filtration systems and emergency backups are to be inspected daily. In an effort to stave off depression and self-harming tendencies in the subject, SCP-1312 is allowed to make requests for recreational artifacts up to and including:

- Laminated Books
- Toys
- Daily conversations with Site staff (All staff must receive hoofwritten approval by Site Director █████████)

SCP-267 is allowed basic privileges as long as they do not pose a security risk. The subject is allowed daily walks, books from the Foundation library (providing the books have been screened and deemed not a security risk), and [REDACTED]. Due to its repeated escape attempts and hatred for the Foundation, SCP-267’s privileges have been suspended.

SCP-267’s cell is to be guarded by four armed non-pony personnel at all times. No pictures of any kind are allowed within SCP-267’s cell, its line of sight, or anywhere within twenty (20) meters of SCP-267. All staff and researchers requiring access to the subject must have all of their belongings searched before being granted entry. This is not negotiable under penalty of immediate termination.

SCP-267 must be blindfolded and bound when moved to other sections of Site 16. Removal or tampering with its blindfold or shock collar at any time during transit is grounds for immediate termination. As the subject has repeatedly proven to be hostile and uncooperative towards Foundation staff, constant vigilance is a necessity.

Addendum: Transcript of conversation between SCP-1945 and Doctor Willows.

<START LOG>
[Doctor Willows is in an interrogation room waiting for SCP-1945. SCP-1945 enters through the door and leans against the frame. SCP-1945’s security waits outside]

SCP-1945: You know, this interspecies stuff really isn’t my thing, but you’ve got some fine legs, Doc. [Doctor Willows shifts, shielding her ███████ from SCP-1945]

Doctor Willows: Your wit is sharp as ever, SCP-1945.

SCP-1945: Not even a hug?

Doctor Willows: Please display a little professionalism; your attitude is not appropriate, given our job.

SCP-1945: A little fun never hurt anyone. Lighten up, doctor.

Doctor Willows: [Anger is present in Doctor Willow’s voice] I am here to speak with you about Incident Report 342.

SCP-1945: Shit... you’re still upset over that, aren’t you?

All personnel must undergo a thorough background check and display total loyalty to the Foundation. Due to the nature of dispatching instances of SCP-724-3, marked psychopathy or sadistic impulses is not automatic grounds for rejection. As SCP-724-3 instances learn from incursions with agents, all field agents and security personnel must be experienced in counter intrusion tactics. Should any instances of SCP-724-3 be discovered, they are to be terminated on sight. Any agents showing mercy or pity on instances of SCP-724-3 will be terminated. No D-Class personnel are allowed on any floors not under Foundation control.

Should any instances of SCP-724-3 be discovered, they are to be immediately destroyed by any means necessary. Invertebrates must suffer massive bodily trauma in order to terminate. Vertebrates must have the spinal column severed or suffer critical damage to the cranium in order to terminate. If the situation is safe enough to do so, all instances must remain under constant attack until confirmed body death.

Reorganize SCP-███ into a solely SCP dossier archive.

Fix Site-16 and post dossiers and chapters there.

Create my entries and post them all as one-shots.

Damn, that was one of the hardest decisions anyone has ever made me do... and I've done some hardcore decisions.

But, I'm still not entirely sure.

I like the sound of SCP-724-3 as it sounds like these instances could be the result of THIS:
cdn1.gamepro.com/article_img/gamepro/6841-218306-3.jpg?rand=559ADA15-FF19-4B19-6E110F2D69643C46

Definately a KETER class object.

1502427
I'm open to others if you have them.

1502717
I don't :P lol I'll just go with what I have. Seems that the winner is kinda obvious already btw :D

1502452
The more I think about it, the less it seems like an appealing concept. I've already been typecast as "that minecraft guy" and I don't want to be typecast as something else, even if it is something I enjoy, even "that SCP guy".

1502456
It's almost complete. I might need to trim the fat, however. It does get a little... gory, and includes another nightmare fuel image.

1503055
I like nightmare fuel!

See if you could work in a "Marker" as a SCP object.

1504934
Remember, the Markers themselves are inert. Without the Bretheren Moons, the Markers are just instantaneous psychic transmitter towers. You could, if you had the transmission frequency, you could freely transmit energy of any kind instantly around the galaxy.

Until the other Bretheren Moons come for you, of course.

In the original SCP archives, there's mention of an SCP of a radio frequency from something moving rapidly through space towards earth. It's said repeatedly, in dozens of different languages, that it's very much intending to wipe out all life on the planet.
Might be related, even.

1506012
The celestial body that spouts murder boners. I know that one. I don't have any celestial or extraterrestial SCPs written yet. I might be able to come up with something.

1506641
Well, if Luna is the Keeper of Night and Dreams, there might be something out there she's keeping out of Equestria. And with her gone for 1000 years, the Foundation might've picked up the slack, with The Nightmare actually trying to let the thing in to distract Celestia long enough to be defeated.
I have no idea what it would be, but anything on that level would probably be a Keter, even if it's an incidental 'everything around this dies or goes crazy, and it's worse when it notices you' sort of thing. After all, some things Man/Ponykind was not Meant to Know would easily be classified as a Euclid or Keter. Such as the Necronomicon or any of the Old Ones, assuming anything like them exists in Equestria. It would explain why there's so few Equestrian cities near the ocean...

1506816
Ah, the Nightmare. That was one of the first I created an SCP for. That one is already complete, although I will need to trim it up a little and make some alterations to the last addendum. That one does exist, and it almost broke 2.5k words. SCP-009 got lucky with it's 3k length.

One thing that has tickled my fancy was open it as a fanon project, meaning anyone can craft their own Equestrain SCP, and SCP-███ would become a collective archive for MLP SCP lovers. But that is thinking a little too far ahead. Still, it is quite appealing.

However, I want my entries to be up the the Foundation's considerable standards. For instance, my SCP-1000 which is quite obviously a Slendermane lacks a lot in the scares department, when it was designed to induce just that. I want my entries to hold up to some sort of unspoken professional standard, and SCP-009 was the first to do that. That's not to say every entry needs to do so, but I want to make it a primary concern.

As for why there are no cities near the ocean, ponies are terrible swimmers of course! Just ask SCP-1312. It's not as if there are Deep Ones lurking under the oceans and my Nightmare Night fanfics might be set in the same universe as my SCP stories. :trixieshiftleft:

1506838
Well, I'm good at crafting the SCPs, just not the dry, scientific reports and formats. If I had someone else to chronicle them it might work better.
I have around a dozen ideas for SCPs for Equestria, though.

1506841
You could always PM me with any free ideas you might have.

1506012
Well if the FlufflePuff tales are anything to go by, the Equestrian Marker does exert some form of energy on it's surrounds.

also a reasonable explanation for the Everfree being as dangerous as it is. (seeing as the marker seems to be located there.

1506935
Maybe, but that's not anywhere near canon to Equestria. Afterall, it had Discord, Chrysalis, and Sombra just sort of.... around.
Also, Dan.

1506932
Sure, I can do that.

1506935
I'm afraid I've never watched any of the Flufflepuff stuff. Something about her makes me break into fits of rage. I can never understand why people like her so much. She's fluffy... so? It's just one of those things I may never get.

1506979>>1506989
I see your rebuttal, and accept it.

anyways, Fp is not the point here. mayhaps there be Brethren Moons out there that can boadcast a signal to a Marker in equestria? but due to the unique magical field of Equestria the psychosis effects of the markers are dimmed somewhat?

1507058
I was mostly saying that the Markers are useless without the broadcaster sending psychic murder-suicide vibes across space. And the idea was for something like a Marker, but there's plenty of things with similar or partially complete effects, such as not reanimating, or not sending the suicide signal, or not the murderous one, etc. in the SCP archives already.

1507078
Oh. I did not know that.

1509201>>1507078
I wouldn't mind such a threat, as it would only enforce the necessity of the Foundation. The only problem is that I cannot see how it can be done without retreading the same ground as Dead Space. That's something I try to avoid.

1509375
The idea would be closer to F.E.A.R., being that it's dangerous, yes, but tightly contained as best as possible, with extremely stringent countermeasures by a group used to memetic dangers. It'd be more like the case log for the unnatural nature SCP in Earth's files.

Also, I sent you the PM, like you asked. Were any ideas you liked?

1509453
I like the book, horn, and toy. I can make SCPs out of them easy enough. It might be tricky for the rest, especially the snake. I don't know if there is enough for that one.

1509491
eh, that's alright. Want some 'encounter' scenarios to work some reports from?
Also, I can expand the details of any you want to hear more about. I have billions of details about them.

1509501
It's just it needs a little better hook. Eldritch Applications is somewhat what I am talking about. It needs to be more than unique, it needs to almost have a story of its very own.

1513893
Oh, they do. Each of them has an in-depth story. I gave snippets because I was just going for a hook, but I can expand on any you want to hear more about, going all the way back to exactly what created them, to how many times they've popped up in history.

I create each of my characters, inanimate or not, with a full history, from beginning to end, and each in its own continuity.

If I had a cutie-mark IRL, it'd be of a planet, half drawn in crayon, the last arc being drawn in then and there. I make worlds. Some nice, some not, some deceptively one or the other, some bland, some adventurous, etc.

So again, any details you want, just ask, and I'll provide.

1519130
I will be enforcing a rule of no canon SCPs, with the exception of certain cross dimensional objects.
