Well. I finally saw the Wedding Episode · 3:28am Apr 24th, 2012
It turns out that my incarnation of Lyra doesn't mesh well with canon. You may remember a certain somepony being paranoid about Canterlot and royalty, so her appearance in the episode sort of complicates things. It doesn't help that I already had plans...
So what now? Does this warrant my story being set in an Alternate Universe? Should I make some convoluted excuse about having an identical twin? Or should I ignore canon when it's inconvenient, like most Romance authors?

Convienent plot excuse and while I despise it you can pull it off with only minor loathing since it's directly related to the wedding.
Other then that... I don't know, AU is always a good excuse to ignore canon... Go with that or just ignore it I guess
I choose option 3, just ignore it....
Well, you already have AU with Pinkie's backstory, so I don't think it matters having Lyra's a little different. You have already established plenty, so just continue with your own continuity.
