My thoughts on the Season Final, and some of the fan reactions. · 4:10am Apr 22nd, 2012

Okay, I\'m going to say right now that this blog post most likely isn't going to win me any friends. It's possible I'll become a bit 'harsh' to say the least. So if you weren't a fan of the season final. You may want to avoid reading this

Just giving warning.

My thoughts on the final two episodes: OH MY GOD FREAKING AWESOMENESS! These last two episodes are SERIOUSLY the best I\'ve seen in the entire show. Hands down. I loved this hour of pony a LOT.

Second: Queen Chrysalis, the changling Queen? My god what an epic villain! I loved her! Finally a villain that SEEMED like a villain!

I loved how she sang too. The mixture of song and action were just perfect in my eyes

I'm also glad to see that the Queen wasn't 'stopped' per say. She's still out there, able to come back and stir up more trouble.

Then came what I knew to come. The fan reactions. Most were okay about it of course. Most thought it epic.

But then you get the ones who can\'t seem to let go of 'headcannon'

Look I support Head Cannon and all, but you have GOT to be prepared to have it shattered at a moments notice. Much as I love the idea of Trixie being a insecure pony who deep down really just wants friends, I\'m prepared to accept her just being a bitch. It may happen.

I saw one comment about someone displeased because Twilight shot lasers. Ponies just can't have offensivespells can they? Personally I thought that was one of the better things I saw.

I've had other people talk to me about how: "You know in the episode I didn't like how X could happen when Y shouldn\'t let it, and I think it's really bad that this certain pony can do this, when they shouldn't if-"

Look I hate to say it. But it's a CARTOON. It was NEVER anything more. It was an awesome cartoon, but in the end? Nothing more then a cartoon. I think MegaMan is the best videogame series I've ever played. I've STUDIED the timeline. But in the end, it's JUST a videogame.

Okay, maybe they just want an escape from the \'real world\' Lord knows I\'ve realized how much this world can SUCK. But I'm afraid we are stuck in it. Much as I'd like to go to Equestria? Ain't gonna happen, so I'm afraid I have to make sure I dedicate enough of my time and thoughts to the world around me. I refuse to be swallowed up by it.

Please don't think I'm pointing fingers at anyone with these statements. But I've seen how unheathly it is to get caught up in a pretend world. My own father had that problem for a while. I can see getting passionate about something you made though. If Lauren was to stand up and say that she was appalled by what the show has become, I'd support her. But that hasn't happened. Because she isn't appalled at all. People seem to forget she still had a major say in season 2. Even if she wasn't there to over see it.

I don't know where the post is exactly, but on her Deviantart she was asked why Cadence was an Alicorn, or what her thoughts on that were, and what she thought of the 'Royal Wedding' Idea.

Her response was that she had a big hand in planning those two episodes. The storyline for that was one of the last things she did. Though she was surprised to find Cadence had been made an Alicorn. The fact is: Lauren HERSELF had the idea of what happened in the Season Finale. She feels the show is doing just fine, and I'm not going to argue with her. I\'m just as in love with it now, as I was then.

This is also why I'm hesitant to really get 'involved' with the fandom. Why I don\'t hang at the Brony Show, why I don't try to go to message boards or the like. Some fans are just way to obsessive.

To me, the world of Equestria has not gotten any less magical. If anything it's only succeed in capturing MORE of my imagination. Given me so much more to see and play with in whatever works of fiction I decide to write.

In short, I think sometimes we need to just step back and take a breather. Perhaps sometimes we over-react to something that in the end, isn't as big a deal as we thought?

I still remember being appalled by the new Wii controller. Saying how the normal controller wasn't broke, and it didn't need this 'fix'. Well, I sure do feel like an idiot now. To think I got so worked up over something so silly.

Anyway, that's my rant. If you all hate me now, hey I understand.

I don't hate, I tolerate!

joking aside, I absolutely loved these eps. Were there things I'd have done differently? Absolutely, but that's the case with every episode that airs...

My only complaint is the massive presence of the boys in gold, only we get our flanks handed to us AGAIN... we had a chance to be shown doing our jobs for once :rainbowlaugh:

I hear ya, man. People need to accept that the creators have supreme power over anything in the show and can do whatever they want with it.

And really, I consider Part 2 of the finale as my favorite episode. It had great songs, action, comedy, a badass villain, and left me with a satisfied feeling now that the season has ended. If someone's finding something to nitpick about, then you're doing just that. Nitpicking.
