Chapter updates/how the play went · 1:02am Oct 30th, 2013
The next chapter of Onto the Pony Planet will likely be delayed. Maybe it will be up by Sunday, maybe it will not. I'm about 1/4 through the rough draft--but I doubt I can finish it by the weekend, and give my pre-readers ample time to go through it.
As soon as that is done, I swear on the soul of my father Domingo Montoya you will reach the top alive. Um, I mean, I'll get to work on CSI-V and Scootaloo Finds a Truck. (You keep saying that. I do not think it means what you think it means.)
Well, now that that's out of the way:
Our first weekend went pretty well. Not a huge audience, but we're competing with a haunted field attraction, on account of it being almost Nightmare Night Halloween. We had the usual number of dropped lines and forgotten props, flats falling onto the stage, and a rope up the Cliffs of Insanity which simply would not cooperate. Dumb rope. I missed a couple of cues in the Inigo/Westley sword fight, but whatever. We got most of them right, and more importantly, nobody got hurt.
I also more-or-less improvised my way through the Miracle Max scene, since they'd changed the blocking since the last time I'd rehearsed it. And, stage floors aren't forgiving on the knees, either . . . I landed hard in the drunk Inigo scene, and bruised both my kneecaps. Good thing I don't need to use them to write.
Oh: I should add, for all of my readers: if you enjoy the 'look behind the curtain,' you need to follow Yinglong Fujun. I've only scratched the surface of his/her blogs, and I must say they're brilliant. Also, Yinglong hardly has any followers, and it would be a shame if s/he were discouraged by the lack of followers.
Just tell Yinglong the Admiral sent you.
