    Grumblemumble...

You know those times when you write something, and then go back to rewrite a certain part of that something because you realized that it was kinda dumb as dumb-stuff, but wind up getting completely stalled in the process, and the wind is taken out of your metaphorical sails?

...yeah. That kinda happened. To me.

Bum da daa da duh da dah!

(+Cookie if you guess what the "lyrics" were from)

Hello thar, it's been awhile, hasn't it? Haven't heard a word from me in...like...a while and stuff! I'm just posting to let you know that I've been making good progress with the next chapter. Tentatively I'd like to say that the first draft will be done in the next two weeks so...there's that.

Have a few teeny tiny previews.

    Everything went better than expected!

    Well...you see...

    New computer. Already.

Sweet. Though, now I have all the crap on steam to redownload...

Also, even though I found out that my old man lost his job about an hour after my computer went kaput, it sounds like he's already found a new one (he had an interview yesterday). I guess having more years of experience in his job than I've been alive looks good on a resume.

Um...I have a teeny tiny problem...

...Yeaaaah...You know that computer of mine, that some of you may have noticed me complaining about some? How it's lousy and I wish I had a new one? Well...

    ...um...

It's also the computer I write my stories on and it kind of...um...bricked. Kaput, kablammo, died, bit off more than it could chew, is pushing up daisies.

    This...may be a problem.

Hiii!
I got a flu shot earlier today, so now my left arm is kinda sore. Kinda awkward when your dad is the one who...um...shoots you.

*Ahem*
Today, I'm going to mention another thing that I find weird in FO, in this case, it's another thing from FO2.

The Enclave's security on the Oil Rig is fricken' terrible. I mean, I assume that they ferry stuff to and from the mainland via air. Don't you think someone would have noticed the giant oil tanker approaching? Sure, the automated defenses didn't blow you out of the water because of the stolen IFF, but one would think that they would send a team to investigate it. Additionally, there's the matter of how easy it is to infiltrate and knick a bunch of stuff from Navarro. I mean, yes, it does require a speech check to successfully bluff your way in, but it's still easy enough that you can do it pretty much the moment you leave Arroyo.

In short, Enclave security blows.

Also, I'm going to cover another topic: Things I would have done differently in FO.

In the classics, it was very possible to hit a target for 0 damage, and when wearing PA, you were essentially bullet proof, unless the mooks busted out some heavy ordinance. As all of us who played the original games know, power armor was nerfed considerably in the newer titles, mostly for purposes of game balancing. Unfortunately, this had the side effect of making the Enclave far less formidable. Escaping from Raven Rock was far less daunting than it should have been, and I would have done a few things differently.

1) First off, you wouldn't have gotten all of your stuff back right away. I simply find it silly that all of your junk is in a locker in the same room you are being interrogate in. You would have to go through a portion of the level in only a prison-esque jumpsuit, and would be required to use the crawlspaces that run underneath the majority of the floors to avoid getting perforated.
2) Make power armor and energy weapons much more powerful. In universe, a PA solder essentially amounts to a walking tank. Again, tying into the above, it would make the pre-stuff retrieval part be much more daunting. You in your jumpsuit would get pwned by stormtroopers.

Essentially, what I would have gone for was the make both the Enclave and Raven Rock be much, much tougher than it was in vanilla. You're supposed to be escaping from super-base of doom, though I still find it to too easy. Also, it would have served to make the immediately proceeding quest much, much more satisfying. After struggling with power-armored stormtroopers, it would be so cathartic to follow that up with curbstomping entire squads with a giant robot.

Y'see what I'm sayin'?

Also, I believe I once did a QnA like forever ago. I feel like doing one again! Ask me your questions, and I shall answer them in the next blog post!

Random facts:
1) Originally my story was planned to be a FO/ME x-over, but then I took a Pinkie to the soul.
2) In the original draft of the prologue, the LW met the ponies right away; the aliens had abducted a few, and they had to work together to get home. The ship then asploded in the same way, after the LW managed to send the ponies home.
3) In one early idea, wacky cultists hijacked a bunch of nukes and blew up Earth...again. It was to be revealed that Equestria was on Earth, a bazillion years later.
4) Originally, Isaac's last name was Wolfe. I used to have a habit of making my characters have a last name phonetically identical to a predator (also, Wolfe and Lyons).
5) As I write this, my feet are cold, and I have a cat sitting on my lap. She is fluffy.

Luckily for you, this week you get more panties.

And more fatpone

Good night.

Alright, interrogation time!

1. Have you seen my wallet?
2. Console or PC?
3. Can you give me directions to the nearest mental asylum? I need to check myself in.

1. Who is your tubby wubby pony waifu?
2. Old Spice or AXE?
3. Are you a cool poppa?

well then i can agree with pretty much all your points... espesicaly with the dlc

To be honest I'd like Wolfe more than Shepard. Shepard feels like a lazy place holder these days, though it does go well with the pony/ horse themes. But Wolfe has the delicious irony that a beast is dwelling among the sheep.

I have a quick question, was there an abundance of enclave troops in the early Fallout's? I've only play a little bit of Fallout 2 and I would imagine power armor would be scarce meaning less PA troops and more standard infantry, this means that if boss mode power armor troops were carried over into the next fallout or they wrere added originally in Fallout 3 or New Vegas you would see them rarely but it would be one helluva fight.

The Enclave wasn't introduced until FO2, and they were the main antagonists. Assuming you don't do any sequence breaking you won't run into them until much later in the game, barring a certain random encounter and an easter egg at Gecko.

All of the on-duty troopers wore power armor, mostly APA (AKA: Remnants power armor). At Navarro, all of the off-duty soldiers wore combat armor, while other staff wore leather. Once you make it to the oil rig, ever single Enclave trooper wears power armor, and they were all very well equipped.

Though, in FO2, you can't loot armor from corpses, so old timey power armor is very rare. There are like...only 5 sets in the entire game, as compared to the unlimited amounts in 3.

1. What is your favorite element (eg. carbon)?

2. What is your favorite non-Fallout game?

3. iPhone or android (or God help you blackberry).

I will ask a question if I may, are there any stories fanfic or otherwise that you enjoy, and did you ever think your fic would become so popular.

1457191 Personally I like that it adds more realism, most likely no vault dweller would be able to take power armor off somebody and wear it without training. It would probably be locked in some way it makes it feel more like they're trying to scrounge their former glory from the ashes after the bombs fell rather than just having endless access to piles and piles of the stuff. Only important troop or individuals guarding high value areas/targets would get the cream of the crop in terms of equipment.

1. Nuka Cola or Sunset Sarsaparilla? I don't like normal cola, so the choice is pretty clear for me.

2. Favorite candy bar?

3. Orange or lemon-lime?

4. 3 favorite game franchises besides Fallout?

5. Who is your waifu? It doesn't have to be a pony, I won't judge.

6. Who are The Patriots?

7. Do you ever browse 4chan? Not just /mlp/, any board.

8. What's your opinion on Twilicorn?

9. What video game platforms do you own/have you owned?

10. Do you ever read stories because someone recommended them to you?

So, is your dad a doctor? Or does he just carry around vaccinations cuz he's awesome?
