The “Crack Pairing Circleship Collab” (as Golden Vision dubbed it—I prefer just the latter half) was a little idea birthed in a Skype chat for some folks who’d gone to BronyCon. Essentially, we composed a list of My Little Pony characters (everyone from the Mane 6 to Crackle and then some) and rolled dice. The first person rolled twice, for two characters, and had to write a story from the perspective of the first character wherein he or she is shipped—romantically or just friendshipping—with the second character. Every subsequent participant in the collab would use the previous person’s secondary character for their own story’s perspective, and rolled once for a secondary character of their own to ship with. After the stories were written, the participants would then review/edit for each other, each person going over the story before theirs (and the first person going over the last’s story).
It sounded pretty fun at the time, but for most folks, it actually wound up being quite taxing. Out of the original pool of participants (as much as fifteen people depending on when the measurement is taken), only six of us wound up going through with the whole thing, most of the rest dropping out due to a lack of decent ideas for the pairing they rolled. On the plus side, though, most of the stories to come out of this were actually pretty nice. Here’s the full list of the completed ones, in the order the pairings were rolled (note that some or possibly all of these could be unpublished at the time of this blog's posting):

6. [Spitfire x Filthy Rich] A Lovely Apology, by PresentPerfect.
As a note, CouchCrusader fully intends to continue his story, which is something I’m looking forward to a good deal. My fic, too, might see a continuation at some point, the chances of which are based partly on its reception but mostly on how I feel about the story itself down the line.
To close this off, I’ll just say that despite how rough actually writing the story was for me, it was awesome getting to work alongside such talented people. That part, I’d be more than willing to do again. Here’s hoping.

2131009 Well, do you happen to be going to the upcoming Bronycon? I can picture the writers getting together for something similar again in the future. Even if you're not going, I could let them know you might be interested, should something like this start up again.

As much as I do love conventions, I've never made plans to come to a brony con. I might in the future, but I don't have plans for this one. Please do keep me in mind, though, if something like that starts. If there's a way to shoehorn me in (hell, even if just to pick up the slack for someone who can't finish theirs, for whatever reason), lemme know. I'd love to participate in a writing exercise with other, well...writers.
