    Bookish Delight (FINAL)

    (sort of)

    Hey, folks. This thing on?

So I was originally trying to write this big essay blogpost about where I've been and the future of Bookish and all that, but... it didn't pan out. So we'll do the much, much shorter version that should still tell you what's important.

    WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

Did you think it was over

...yeah, that's fair, so did I. Still need to talk about that when I'm able. Until then...

    ELa Famille Royale
The Zephyr Heights royals just helped change the world. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time they've done so, and they'll have to answer for that... just as soon as they work on themselves.

    Question For the Crowd!

What, in your opinion, are Equestria's most significant locations? (i.e. Canterlot, Cloudsdale, etc.)

Please keep it to... oh, top 7, and excluding Ponyville/the Everfree Forest.

Thanks to all who answer!

Catching Up · 3:48pm Apr 13th, 2012

Hello there, my wonderful, wonderful audience! This post (and the next one) will be a long one as there's a lot to talk about! My workload as of late has been slightly lower than usual (which oh gosh means I can get consistent good nights of sleep again), so I'm using the time to catch up on pony activity--both writing and otherwise! Seriously, I think I've immersed myself more in material for this show in the past week than I have in the past year--but this time around I know enough to stop just before I burn myself out on it. Therefore, fun reigns supreme!

- I've recently been doing my best to catch up with fandom friends I've been lax in communicating with (so sorry!), reaching out to others whose work I enjoy (hope I'm not scaring you! :D) and overall trying to... connect? It's a slow process which I have never been very good at, but I am quite good at patience, perseverance and problem solving--and you'd be surprised at how many inefficiencies those two make up for.

- I've also been checking out the Groups function, which I honestly did not know existed until very recently, and giving the Search function some love. Again, these seem like very elementary things, but you'd be surprised just how little I've actually hunkered and down and tried to learn how this site works. Hopefully I'll find some highly enjoyable works here I can comment on, and maybe even inspire me (though I tend to get amazing bouts of writer's jealousy, so that's tougher than it sounds. :D)

- Maybe I shouldn't say this, but nuts to it--I actually attended Sakura-Con this past weekend (I don't usually do conventions, but this was one of those "why not" sort of things), and to my utter surprise, there were pony cosplayers everywhere, and a whole bunch of pony panels. I went to all of them and had the time of my life. You gain some wonderful and heartwarming perspective when you, in person, see just how diverse fans of the show can be even in a room of hundreds. Also, it appears you can get mouth cramps from smiling for two hours nonstop. :D Still, my tiny Twilight and I had an absolute ball.

- On a writer's note, I've been thinking rather intensely about shipping lately (just the concept of it, mind) since my stories... let's face it, are compatible with ship-glasses if you wear them (but totally enjoyable if you don't!). If I went into detail on all of said thoughts now, this post would be about three times as long, so I'll save it for a future post. Not too far in the future, though, I promise. But... well, if ever you were curious as to why I tend to be an eternal tease--yet not much else--you might want to watch out for it.

- ...so up until now I considered DeviantArt my main base of operations. However, it's come to my attention that I have almost no overlap between the audience I have over there and the audience I have over here! It'd be silly to keep half of my readers in the dark, so I'll be posting my updates in full both there and here from now on! (I'd originally planned to make Fimfic-specific posts but really, I don't usually have enough material for that sort of approach.) If you're one of the few seeing this for the second time, please accept my apologies. :twilightsheepish:

That about wraps it up for the "being-a-fan" side of things! NEXT TIME: The second half of this post, including a bevy of upcoming projects, and... what's this? Could a mid-season form upgrade be in Bookish's future? STAY TUNED

My eyes could be deceiving me, but did I just read shipping? as in romance? :twilightsheepish:

I'll leave the rest unsaid.... but you know what I mean. :twilightblush:

Yes, as in the Romance tag. Worry not; that genre is highly linked to what originally burned me out in the first place, so I don't see it to be a well I will be frequently visiting (if I do). But sometimes it is great fun. I'll speak more on it at a later date.

You misunderstood, I -like!- shipping.

Though I'm mostly looking forward to the rest of the P3 project.
