The Code Series - Emerald Flare, Code of Dissonance, and Unrealized Projects

Continuing with a longstanding desire to put old works to rest, this blogpost goes over the extremely scattered notes, ideas, basic plot threads and ideas that would have taken The Code's Apprentice stories to a 5 story... conclusion of sorts.

The Twilight Shadow - Basic Plot Outline Spoiler for Twilight War sequel.

As long promised, below was the full outline - along with a couple of half-finished scenes and a big prologue blurb - for The Twilight Shadow, the Penultimate "Twilight Struggle" story, and sequel to The Twilight War. These are mostly short blurbs, along with chapter names, and a general outline of the final set of events. I have other notes, but they're extremely rambly, and not terribly well

    Looking Back

Been a long time, hasn't it?

I know a lot of you have probably moved on, but I figured I at least owed it to the longtime followers - and continued readers - to finally check in.

    Another year passed.

So if you're wondering where I've been, here's the short version.

Living outside of a home of your own kinda sucks, and my new job is incredibly time and energy demanding.

The long version takes a bit more.

Touching Base · 7:37am Sep 20th, 2013

Hey guys.

So after the disappointing debut of Cookie Cadet Caper, I kind of dropped off the radar for a while.

Dueling Piano's is still in the process of being written - though much like its predecessors, I find myself occasionally stuck at parts and glaring at the screen trying to will the story back to life. At the moment, the first part is both done and edited, and I was curious if you folks wanted to wait until it was finished before I pubbed it, or if you really want to see Part 1 right away. Given that I cannot give anything regarding a 'schedule' for the release of the next parts, I figured I'd ask you guys before I made a judgement call on that one.

That being said, I thought it might be good to touch base with you guys. With only 11 more days until the 1st of October, I am currently a bit uncertain about using it as The Twilight War release date. I know that many of you are looking forward to it - I myself am VERY much looking forward to the writing challenge it's going to present - but I am uncertain if the timing is right. I will try to have a definitive answer for you within a week or so if I'm going to go forward with that day or push it back a little. We'll see how I feel mentally.

Finally - Dr.Negative. Hooboy.

While I sat down and wrote moooost of an update for this story, I'm beginning to be of the opinion that it's just going to have to wait until I get Twilight War out of my head. This is not a 100% opinion yet, but It might just end up that way. That being said, should that end up being my decision, I will be postponing The Code of Dissonance to sit down and finish The Revenge of Dr. Negative before I do any other major project. I am committed to finishing this blasted thing, in spite of the writers block I seem to have on it right now.

Finally - after much community interaction, I have decided my next Code side story (Along with Rebirth, the next Trixie story) Will in fact be "The Red Baron" the story of Baron Siegfried and how he came to be, came to know Princess Celestia, and the tumultuous relationship between them (And maybe a tease about his story to come... wink wink.)

Anyway, I just wanted to break the silence and make sure you guys knew I wasn't dead. As always, opinions and comments are more than welcome.

As always, Stay Pony my friends.

Well, one thing I need to say first is, do the story the way you want to be, and I do find that as long as the author will pump out the chapters, I don't mind whether they need long time for it to be finished.

*hugs* Do keep up your good work! (And I can't wait to see Trixie's and Baron Siegfried story... *u*)

No rush. Do your best.

1362215 Same to you (As much as I'm looking forward to more Apples N Wheat, I can wait. Probably.)

1362150 Thanks Fenrir. You've been there since the beginning, and your support and opinion still means a lot to me. :pinkiehappy:

1362227 *hugs* As you are, Lazuli  You are a great author, don't let others drag you down!

I know I know I'm working on it, but the 70 hours a week at work don't help. >.<

I'm with the others. Do things at your pace. I'm sure your dedicated readers won't mind the wait.

Just like everyone else, I'll say work on what you want to work on when you want to work on it. We'll be here waiting so don't feel like you have to pump out a story at a certain time just to appease us. :derpytongue2:

As for Cookie Cadet Caper, it was a very well written and extremely adorable read and I'm glad to have read it. Don't let it get you down. Please don't feel discouraged into never dong anymore slice of life/comedy one shots again.

Just know that we all think your work is awesome and wish you the best!

Well, I am going to agree with most of the current comments here and say write whatever you want in the order you feel like, sir. You are a phenomenal writer, in my opinion, and even though it has been taking me a while to actually read the few stories left of yours that I haven't read (Life got busy :applejackconfused: ) I have truly enjoyed everything I've read of yours so far. Good luck!
