I was just looking over the cast for the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars and came to an easy realization: compared to what ABC hath wrought this time around, the voice cast and creator of a certain equine-oriented show are at least as famous as half this group. Possibly two-thirds. And it made me wonder -- why not have one of them take part?
Naturally, there's nothing we can do about this. Online petitions and Email campaigns? Don't work. DWTS casts on a strict quota system, one which is very easy to see if you compare a few seasons to each other. One NFL player, one Disney Channel actor, one soap sudsers or as close as they can get with the genre nearly extinct, one ringer... there's no room for animation personnel on that list. And that's assuming anyone associated with MLP:FIM would want to go for it. The main reason I'd want them on would honestly be the payday: taking part on this thing is a six-figure check just for showing up, and the cash gets better the farther you go. Beyond that... we're voting for our rep, and maybe they could pick up a few people if they were talented -- so in other words, unless we got organized in a major hurry and turned into a cohesive Vote For The Worst Pony casting block, out in Week #3. They came, they helped their bank account, they had any number of bad jokes made at their expense, they left.
Voice performers and animation personnel don't do reality shows of any stripe.
And outside of the money involved? They're better off.
they should do it, just to promote the show. they could have dresses made up in the colors of some of the characters, somehow incorporating their cutie marks too. I think it'd be kinda cool.
Aren't those shows mostly for doucher has been celebrities with the occasional real star doing it because they're bored?

is a good enough reason to not take part.
