    Tales off for Vacation

Basically the title says it all: Tales will be taking a couple weeks off; don't know exactly how many, but chapters should be back before the end of April.

    No Tales This Week

Basically what it says in the title; I'm not happy with the quality of 12-3 and it needs a bit longer to sit before it's ready.

    Tales on Holiday Hiatus

The title basically says it all; there won't be a new Tales from Everfree City until the new year. In addition to the upcoming holidays, I used up my backlog of chapters and need some time to build them back up, and rather than having just one chapter in a new Tale drop, going a couple weeks without, grabbing one or two more and then taking another couple weeks off for Christmas and New

    Checking In

I know I missed Tales last week, and I'm going to miss today's posting too; I promise this isn't a(nother) huge absence, I've just been busy with work and helping some friends move and haven't had the time I need to polish up 9-3. It is coming, it is being worked on, and I apologize for the delay.

A Very Popular Decision · 3:26am Aug 14th, 2013

So, first off, I finally have that creepy diaper-fetish art off my user page. It was fun to prank Rurik, but my Google Search History is tainted forever.

Anyway, some time last night, I finished From Stalliongrad With Love; its final chapter and epilogue are currently in editing. So those of you who've been following along can look forward to that in a few days.

Those of you who haven't been keeping up with FSWL will have a bit longer to wait, but notably not as long as I had earlier predicted. October is still a long way off, but hopefully Ghosts of the Past will return sometime early in September instead. I've got most of a chapter done, but there are a few things I want to take care of first. Over the next few days, while I'm working on editing, I'm going to be going back and making a few changes to the already-posted chapters of GotP.

Now before you're all in an uproar, this isn't going to be a storm of retcons. Mostly, it's that after having actually developed Ink's character so much, I'm not entirely happy with his dialogue; there are also a few formatting errors related to the 'Import from Google Drive' feature that I've been meaning to fix. The moral of this comment is that if you've already read up to where we are in Ghosts of the Past, you don't need to re-read anything, unless you really want to.

Next up, I've got a couple teasers for some shorter projects. One of them will likely interrupt GotP, but it will also be very short. It's the price of my joke at Rurik's expense from the previous blog post:

I... I'm not sure I really want to talk about that before it comes out.

Next is one I have to describe because I don't have spoiler-free art for it yet from Rurik. It's called Family Vacation, and it will likely fall into a similar vein with From Stalliongrad With Love; only with a different character focus. I don't expect it to run quite as long as FSWL either, so don't get worried that I'm going to get sidetracked forever.

The other story I've got brewing is... a bigger project. Like, as big as an Act of WLL big. I'm tentatively calling it 'Apprentice', though I make no pretense that it will stay with that name. It follows a sort of 'split-focus' shifting between Twilight's early years as Celestia's student, and the story of a past student of the Princess, named 'Morty' (Mortal Coil), who lived not too long after the time period that The 24th Pegasus is currently describing in Snow and Shadows.

Rurik, in case I don't tell you enough, you're amazing.

TL;DR: Then why the hell are you reading my blog? My stories are HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF WORDS!
But in all seriousness, to summarize: FSWL is over soon, GotP will be starting up shortly afterward. I'm doing some editing on early GotP chapters, but you don't have to re-read them. Later, I'll write some other fics. You can look at cover-art/concept art above, in case you missed the nearly wallpaper-sized images while you were scrolling down.

I like the sound of that Apprentice fic. Really, really looking forward to GotP too.

Those two fics look incredibly interesting.

I... I'm not sure I really want to talk about that before it comes out.

Hm. Time to bother Ruirik...

The cover is meant to resemble the playbill for Wicked. The term 'lollypopth' does not refer to the candy depicted in the image. I'll let you go from there.

(I typed Wicket at first, and now I want an Ewok musical. The feature song is Wub Chub Yib Chip Nub)

the original sketch was better :trollestia:

I bet it was. Probably a helluva lot more detailed, too.

I'm a terrible editor. I will get around to editing FSWL very soon. Promise.

Despite the fact that I see you everywhere around fimfic, I just noticed your avatar had not only one, but two crowns. Also, you don't do much lurking for a lurker.

Please tell me at least one of those will boast a comedy tag. FSWL has been absolutely hilarious up to this point.

Not two crowns. A crown and a necklace.

Oh, I thought it was an upside down crown... Sorry about that.

Family Vacation and Lollypopth will both be boasting comedy tags. I straight up cannot talk about the former's plot, and I'd generally prefer to talk about the latter as little as possible. That being said, since Rurik is probably getting a kick out of my suffering...

It will be a pseudo-musical, by which I mean that it will contain many instances of 'songs' like Ink's covers of From Russia With Love and Korobeiniki (that's the Tetris theme, for all you uncultured philistines out there).

It's set some five or ten-ish years before Nightmare Moon's return, and it follows Foresight during his incredibly brief stay at Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns, amongst other students of his age (Blueblood, Cadance, etc...), in their late adolescence. Hearts will be broken, spells will be cast, and...

... and lollypopth will be licked. :fluttershyouch:
