Scootaloo Finds a Truck in the Everfree Forest

I've got a blue '69 Chevy C/10 sitting in my driveway. It's one of those projects that I'm going to get around to when I get the chance.

Half the HiE stories I read have the human bring a cellphone, which as often as not actually works. But why stop there? I've seen one or two fics that have cars somehow get transported to Equestria, usually with a human operator to explain how they work.

Still, since the CMC have driven a parade float, the idea of a self-propelled vehicle isn't beyond their understanding (to say nothing of the steam locomotives).

I had to do a little research for this story, but not too much. The song that's playing in the truck is AC/DC's "It's a Long Way to the Top," from the underdash 8-track player. I wanted to describe the album cover, but the guy at the antique store said that 8-tracks came in flimsy cardboard sleeves that everyone threw away, and I figured Scoots wouldn't know how to eject an 8-track tape.

The word "dashboard" comes from sleighs and wagons that far predate internal-combustion vehicles.

Don’t waste too much time with the license plate on the front--I got it at a flea market about 10 years ago; I don't live in Colorado.
