So, what I've been working on... (Side Story with Evening Storm!) · 3:44am Apr 4th, 2012

Okay, so I've gotten into a few RPs with a friend of mine. It's about the most writing I'd done all week. (I'm still having minor blocks here and there. I'm working through it though. Sorry my excuse is so lame. :/ )

However, we liked the stories we came up for these RPs so much that we made a joint tumblr to post them as actual stories.

This is a small example of what you'd see there: (Warning: WIP Text and story might change before final draft)

Two Destinies never meant to intertwine...

Rune Sigilsign: A pony from another world and time. Student of Princess Twilight. He’s come to a this world for reasons unknown. The element of magic in his time, yet hindered here. Two Elements of Magic can not co-exist, and with Twilight Sparkle around, his power is limited. What he is up to, only he himself knows.

Evening Storm: A ‘human’ from another world made pony by a being known only as the ‘White Alicorn’. Her reasons for doing this to him unknown. Evening has little choice but to simply make the best of his situation. His magic seems to be great, alas he is unable to control the majority of it. A simple Grooming spell normally resulting in him catching aflame. His goal is to simply make a life for himself the best he can.

Both have been thrown together by a twist of fate. Both becoming friends.

How will these two ponies interact, now that their worlds are one?

Part 1:

Evening was watching his friend intensely. Rune Sigilsign was the element of magic back from where he came from. Some one thousand years in the future. Evening had first met Rune when he had decided to travel Equestria. Having spent a long time in the Canterlot Castle, Evening had managed to learn a lot about spells and the various ways to cast them.
Unfortunately whenever he tried to CAST any of them, the result was always failure. Most of the time he ended up on fire. NOT a pleasant experience. Rune however, had no such issues with casting magic. Though his power seemed to be limited for some reason. Evening hadn’t been bold enough to ask about it.
Currently Rune was attempting some new spell he had read about in a book. According to its description, it was a spell of finding. If it worked, it’d help in the location of any object. As a test Evening had hidden a simple rock somewhere in the Library for Rune to ‘find’. Not only was Evening glad to help, but he was very curious as to the workings of the spell itself. His hope was that he’d be able to learn enough from Twilight and Rune to be able to cast magic of his own, without having to jump in a lake directly afterward.
“Well that should do it.” Rune said as he studied his handiwork. Everything looked proper. Evening Storm himself couldn’t see what the pages in the spellbook Rune was using actually said, but from what he could make out of the diagrams, it seemed perfect. He certainly wasn’t about to cross the room to look over Rune’s preparations. He was, after all, better at this sorta stuff then he was.
“So what’s next? Just the spell itself?” Evening asked. Rune nodded in response.
“That will do it. If it works I should know where you hid the rock in no time. Well here goes.” With that he began to charge his magic into the diagram on the parchment before him. Lighting it up with the same color - as Rune’s magic. However it was then that Evening noticed something off about the spell. Directly afterward, Rune’s own body began to glow. That shouldn’t happen with a simple location spell. He was about to shout for Rune to stop, when the light suddenly flashed, leaving Evening blinded for several seconds.
“GAH! I’m pretty sure it wasn’t suppose to do that!” Evening said, frantically blinking his eyes. All he saw were a multitude of spots however.
“You’re telling... Me...” Came an unfamiliar voice. Whoever had spoken seemed confused about something. It took a second, but Evening realized the voice, which ever pony it belonged to, was a mare. There simply wasn’t any way that high pitched a tone was coming from a stallion. But who was it? It certainly wasn’t any pony HE knew.
“Um hello?” Evening called confused, “Who’s that? Rune you okay?”
“No... No I don’t think I am...” Came the same voice. Evening blinked once more, this time from the sheer shock. His vision had finally begun to clear, revealing before him a rather cute mare of blue. Her hair was the same shade of brown that Rune had. In fact her cutie mark was...
“R-Rune!?” Evening exclaimed staring at the mare in shock. With a sigh, the mare nodded her head.
“I’m afraid so. Seems the spell didn’t work quite how I... Expected...”
