One Is the Loneliest Number That You Ever Knew

Two can be as bad as one
It's the loneliest number since the number one

No is the saddest experience you'll ever know
Yes is the saddest experience you'll ever know
'Cause one is the loneliest number that you'll ever know
One is the loneliest number even worse than two, yeah

It's just no good anymore since you went away
Now, I spend my time just
    Making up rhymes of yesterday

Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky

I feel super cringe for posting yet another self-hype blog, so I'm gonna borrow a bit of Tolkien's goodwill to get through it.

January 2, 2023. Three days. Peace.

    Best,
    GentlemanJ

So Wait... Is This Ten or Not? · 12:21pm Jul 22nd, 2013

A fine morning to all you peoples,

As I peaked throught the comments this morning, which were all lovely by the way, I spotted a pretty good question that I thought I should address. Stem off the tides of madness, so to speak. Ahem...

Zdaysavior: "So when does the tenth story begin? Or is this the start of it?"

GentlemanJ: "That is correct, Zdaysavior. This is in fact the start of the tenth story."

Zdaysavior: "But sir, why have you upset the natural order? You've always numbered your stories, but by neglecting to do so now, you have thrown the very heavens out of alignment!"

GentlemanJ: "Hush now, child. All reasons shall come to light."

Zdaysavior: "But when, good sir? When?!"

GentlemanJ: "Well, right now, if you'd give me a bleeding chance to speak, you insufferable urchin! (Yeesh, ragamuffins sure have gone downhill since my day). Ahem. Anywho, the reason I didn't number this one in particular is because it's a short story, and only one of several that I plan to release in the oncoming months. It's sort of like Lazy Summer Days, but each one is more thematically distinct, so I figured I'd post them separately. This means that if I numbered them all, I'd end up with like, twenty in total. Didn't want to inflate numbers like that, so to speak, so I decided just start labeling all of them as a short story in the series.

Rest assured, everything bearing The Journey of Graves title is canon. These aren't one offs, but actual events happing in the story's true timeline. Each release will occur in chronological order and in total, will bring us all to the fabulous events that make up... well... what would life be without surprises, eh?

So, Zdaysavior, you filthy ankle biter you... have I answered your questions?"

Zdaysavior: "Oh, yes sir! You've met my expectations most brilliantly!"

GentlemanJ: "Good. Now take this hay penny and be off with you. I'm starting to smell like peasant."

And so there you have it. Thanks to Zdaysavior's noble sacrifice, we all now know that yes, the short stories are in progression with the The Journey of Graves, but simply not labeled as so to keep my numbers "accurate" so to speak. And with that out of the way, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show... when it comes back next week. Oh ho ho ho ho!

Sincerely,
GentlemanJ

P.S. I'm pretty sure Zdaysavior is not in fact a dirty little British street urchin, but I had so much fun treating him as one, I feel compelled to address him as such from now on. Thank you, good sir, for a hearty little laugh to start off my day. God save the queen!
