Music Muse: Round 2 · 5:10am Jul 21st, 2013
Hello. I am here once again requesting my fans for music. I did this once before in order to kick myself to make some chapters. I don't need motivation this time, but I do need a little mood music for future chapters of At the End. I request my fans for something a little dark. A fight, one hell of a fight, is coming.
I need some dark music, preferably instrumental or other songs with minimal vocals. That gets me in the best mood, as I am an ungodly slow writer otherwise. I have enough battle music to last me until Thor is riding Luna during Ragnarok; I need something for the creepy scenes, like this:
or this
This is also for a Halloween project I am working on. Bring on the creepy, bring on the kooky. Give me what makes you afraid of the dark.
People have different opinions of this one, but I definitely hear creepy in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF2v32xCD0Y
Not exactly a song, but pretty darn close.

It's what happens when you take a sound (dial tone) and tamper with it. It gets creepy.
I saw the last four words, and something popped into my head. It kind of goes against the minimal vocals a bit, but it's still good.
For the fight scene I would do unstopable or Nara by E s posthumus. No help for creepy

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head for the styles you requested. I'm curious to see what else gets posted, as I don't typically listen to these genres
Well... as scary and dark I don't really have anything better than Hardcore, but I don't believe you like 220bpm distorted kicks and horribly awesome melodies and screeches ripping your ears off (in a good way).

lol Van Canto is fucking legendary xD They have "covered" also one of my favorite songs, Rebellion by Grave Digger.
Starcraft 2, The Hive.
Pretty much the entire Amnesia soundtrack.
Not exactly "Scary" but I'm just going to dump this here. Tiberian Sun
There's a group of people known as Midnight Syndicate that I know does some ambient/creepy/Halloween/orchestral stuff. Not really my cup of tea, but my father really likes it for his Halloween stuff and some of it certainly give off a creepy vibe. Unfortunately, I don't know the group well enough to say which are best for creepy stuff, but they're definitely something to check out.
Of the ones I've heard, "Dark Legacy" is a nice piece.

Actually, do you have anything more like this? One of the Mane Six is going to kick eight kinds of ass, and this will suit her quite well for the coming fight.

Listening to Robert Rich's stuff at two in the morning with full headphone volume and running on half sleep the previous night induces some of the weirdest writing I have made. At least it is getting me through the boring talking scene at the beginning of chapter 30.

Robert Rich's music is eerily simple to lose oneself in. Careful though....sometimes the person who awakens from the dream, isn't always the same one who enters.

It certainly helped me pump out the hardest scene of 25,000 words of work.
What if I told you that the top is not Cobb's totem? What if I told you he had something else the whole time?

Glad that you found the music helpful. Boring talking scenes can be a real bitch to write sometimes :/
Wait what!? If that's true then it would certainly give me a lot to think about...

At least, I have reasonable evidence that it is not. Don't scroll over the spoiler tag if you are not curious.
It is because the top is not his totem, it is his wife's. Of course he had to have his own totem before events of the film, but the death of his wife would possibly make him get a new one. That's fair.
His totem in the film is not the top. In fact, watch the film; he never says the top is his totem. This is good, as totems are supposed to be secret. He told the kid about totems using his own, because it was a red herring. His real totem is his ring.
Notice the wedding ring? He never wears it in real life and it is only seen in the dreams. It is never mentioned or brought attention to, and that's what makes it so perfect. No one know his true totem. Meaning if you go to the end of the movie with that infamous scene, you see he is not wearing the ring. He did get out of the dream.

I re-watched the movie on the off chance you were yanking my chain.
Needless to say my mind was blown
