Chapter Four is done and sent to my editors! Sadly, one of them is out camping and won't be able to do his duty as a slave edit it until ~sunday, so it will probably first be out by monday.
...I generally dislike doing this kind or stuff, or I dislike reading it is more like it, but here is a small teaser of what is to come to help you guys through the wait :3
The farm pony looked up and saw her friend, pleasant surprise written on her face. She had apparently not heard the knocking. “Howdy, Twilight,” she greeted with a kind smile and stood up. She extended a hoof in greeting which the other mare accepted, bumping the extended appendage. “Didn’t expect ta see ya here today. What gives?”
“Nothing much, Applejack, just wanted to see a friend. Heard from Big Mac that you were working on fixing the plow.”
Applejack nodded. “Yeah, just finished. ‘Bout to head out the orchard to buck some trees. Saw some ripe ones yesterday, but didn’t have time then.” She shrugged. “Sorry, Twi, but I don’t think I have the time to chat so much today. Hope it don’t bother you too much.”
Twilight, slightly saddened by the news, lowered her head slightly, ears splayed back and spoke with an almost defeated tone. “Sure...”
“Sorry, Twi, but the farm takes priority.” Applejack smiled good naturedly at the unicorn and tipped her head, turning to leave.
“Wait!” Twilight exclaimed. “Can’t I help?”
“I don’t really know...”
“I know I’m not strong enough to buck apples... I hope you wouldn’t mind if I used magic.”
“Ah dunno-”
“Please~!”
Puppy eyes - check, pout - check, almost on her knees begging - check. “Ye’re as stubborn as Rainbow once ya set yer mind on something, Twilight,” Applejack chuckled. The begging face of her friend was just too much for her. “Sure, Twi, ya can help me. Come on, let’s get going.” She opened the door to the outside again and immediately headed for the eastern orchard.
