Hey, everypony. Just wanted to rattle off some quick updates on production and other details. This whole last month leading up to my sister's departure has been thoroughly chaotic, and as a result I haven't been focused enough to produce work of a quality that I can feel comfortable releasing. However, now that the move is done and my house is eerily quiet, I should have an easier time focusing on my writing, and I'm stoked at the thought of sharing what I have nailed down already. "In Swept a Blizzard" is sitting at approximately 16000 words with nearly three chapters finished, and while I've been stumped on the same bucking scene for nearly this whole last month (no, seriously, the same flippin scene. I've written it like three different ways and I'm -still- not getting it right...), I think I'm finally starting to find my direction again, which is fantastic since the entire rest of the fic seems to be where my mind is focused. Or, at least, anywhere but the chapter I'm actually trying to write...
Once I have a few more chapters finished I will work towards acquiring some decent cover art for the new story, and then publish the first chapter of the new story (assuming it doesn't get struck down by the mods for being a "re-write," which doesn't really do it justice since it is a completely different story). Since many of you have seen the majority of the first chapter already, I may release more than one at launch. I don't have any idea on how frequent updates will be, since that depends entirely upon how long it takes me to be satisfied with my work, but if I have at least five or six chapters finished before publishing the story, I should be able to give a chapter a week for at least a month. Hopefully.
As for the interim fic, well, I think that's at... four chapters? The only problem with continuing that story is that its events are being directly influenced by the new content in "Blizzards," so even if I started posting that, some of the things wouldn't make much sense, and may in fact contradict some of what I've already written (and am in the process of correcting).
Now, just a reminder to those that spooked at the mention of a re-write, I don't have any plans to delete the stories I've already written. Some of them may go down for a time, and some may be heavily edited, but I will give warning before such actions to allow ample time to download the originals should ponies so desire. I know it's taking a long time, and for the wait, I apologize, but I will do my best to make the end result worth the wait.
Thank you all for bearing with me - I know waiting isn't any fun!
Awesome choice for a title, can't wait to read it.
I just hope it doesn't mean changes (massive ones anyway) to the other stories in the 'Ceruverse', as I've seen it called. Especially Under The Starry Skies. That's got to be my favourite of the series, followed closely by Risks and Catastrophes.
Waiting is fun when we're waiting for you!
Can't wait to read the new Cerulean fic, definitely.
By the by, I'm almost done riffing the first chapter of the original, and I was wondering once more if I could have your permission. Most riffers don't see it as necessary, but I still like to ask for it. What do you say? Pleeaassse?
I have a feeling they'll be well worth the wait. Looking forward to them big time.
Whew. Had me worried there when you hadn't been around for a while. Good to see you're back. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Many people, including me, don't really mind the fact we haft to wait, you are a great writer and anything you bring out is worth a gold star. So take your time, we don't mind.
dude as long as you keep writing and putting something out i'll be happy with it.
reading this makes me wan't to re-read your fic's
