New Idea: Letting the Gates Loose on Fan Characters/OCs · 3:16am Jun 25th, 2013
Since I'm starting to contemplate what would happen in a battle between a certain fan-made character and her opponent, I've decided that it's only fair if I let the readers pitch in ideas with other characters that are non-canon to the show. The battles showcasing these imaginary characters will be specifically labeled as "Side Chapters".
Now with that said, I have to lay down some ground rules regarding these battles in order to avoid fuster-clucks.
#1, Your suggested character must exist in a MLP:FiM-related piece of fiction. I can't have random Pokemon or Marvel fan-characters crowding the space of a FiMfic.
#2, The character must have a legible, easily accessible page of information regarding their appearance, powers, and abilities. I'm not going to read through so many works just to find random side-character #12 in chapter 39 in the second sentence of paragraph 64. I'm also not going to force that task on anyone else. I think RLYoshi's already learned about the difficulty of trying to organize such a mess. I don't want to fall for that trap too.
#3, The character must not be inherently invincible, immortal, or eternal. This is a Death Battle parody. As such, participants must be capable of dying. (Or taken out of commission for those of you who are squeamish about that kind of thing.)
#4, I reserve the right to refuse suggestions made by anyone. That includes any species that is capable of leaving a comment. I don't discriminate.
