Holy f***ing shit everybody, you've probably already noticed but my latest story Blood Red As Apples made it to the featured wheel!!! That story pushed me (as of this blog post) right to the edge of 100 Stalkers as well. Ever since I started my first story I've only dreamed about getting on the featured wheel and let me tell ya when I saw it I nearly cried (and then nearly vomited) from happiness. Thank you all my wonderful watchers for bringing me here, it may not be a huge accomplishment in the real world but too me it means so much.

The Featured box? No idea at all.
I think it's a automatic program that goes by how many likes you have compared to dislikes.
That's my assumption though. So if you get like, 50 likes and no dislikes you can get in.

Well, seeing as it's the first thing people see upon entering the site, it's definitely a prestigious position to hold. I agree that there's a good chance its based on Likes, but it's also possible you have to pay to get on it. Think about it, this is a non-profit site, and while I'm certain there are bronies out there perfectly willing to pay out-of-pocket for something like this, having such a thing as that Featured Box would be a good way to inspire others to help out with the expenses. If I were you, I'd get it straight from the horse's mouth (ah, pony puns

Pretty sure it's to do with how much "heat" a story has.
From what I've read, certain actions (presumably things like views, likes, faves etc) add heat to a story, which gradually falls off over time. The ones in the top stories box, same as the featured box, are the stories that currently have the highest heat.
What matters is generating a lot of heat in a short time. For example, a story with 50 likes in an hour may have more heat that a story with 500 likes gained over a year.
