Goals. · 2:02am Jun 5th, 2013

I've been wondering what I'm after in telling this story -- other than just hoping to complete it. What am I looking for? Well -- realistically...

...maybe a hundred readers getting all the way through the last chapter. Of course, given the potential number of chapters remaining and the rate at which I lose viewers from section to section, that means I'm going to need about 2500 unique readers on Chapter One. So -- probably not going to reach that goal.

...for other writers to take some of the ideas I've proposed so far (along with a few of those yet to come) and bring them over into their own works? It's possible, I guess -- but likely? No idea. It depends on who I get reading this and whether anything I'm writing actually makes sense for someone else's use -- or at all. I'm not placing any bets there.

...not to get into the Featured section. That is not going to happen. Period. I reconciled to that when I started and I haven't changed my mind. It's a non-event with zero probability. I can't even get into the Popular Stories column with this. Idea dismissed.

...a TVTropes page? At a guess, only if I write one. And I am not the world's greatest linker, so -- nice dream, but not likely. No notability? How about No HTMLability?

...writer interview? Um... right...

...reviewed? Just about as likely -- in other words, not.

So for now, I'll keep it simple: to finish. Just to finish in a way that makes sense for whoever gets to the end.

Oh, and two thousand thumbs down.

Yes, I feel that's realistic.

I just wanted to remind you of this blog... because I'm one of those people...

I also want to remind you of this blog, six years later. Shoulda had more faith in yourself, Estee.

...after all, you probably got more than 2000 downvotes just for that whole piano thing.
