(Brought to you by Insomnia. Insomnia: GODDAMNIT WHY CAN'T I FUCKING SLEEP?!)
Next most likely thing to drop: Shelter From The Storm. It won't be everyone's cup of tea (forced infantilism!) but what the fuck.
New story ideas...
Untitled piece about Fluttershy magically transitioning to earth pony, and the fallout among her friends (Dash in particular).
A Wedding, An Engagement, And A Date: A three-part romance story about all six of the girls pairing up (RariDash, ApplePie, and TwiShy) over the years. Bulk of it happens at X-pair's wedding, when Y-pair secretly gets engaged, and Z-pair decides to actually try going on a date together. (Happy! It's been percolating for a while, but I haven't gotten anything solid yet except the story idea. I don't even know who's getting married, who's getting engaged, and who's just about to go on their first date.)
Even The Ocean Is Not Entirely Deep: Rarity's years before Ponyville, when she struggled with wanting to be generous and fabulous at the same time, and a llama (YES, I MADE A PUN, SUCK IT) teaches her that nothing makes them mutually exclusive. (Happy! Believe it or not, I do have happy story ideas. :P )
Impulses: Twilight has to adjust to being an alicorn -- but she didn't just get new wings. The change causes shifts in your brain, and with neurological restructuring comes strange thoughts and stranger urges. (Dark.)
A crossover I don't want to name to prevent spoilers, that I'm actually optimistic about.
That's about everything, there. I have like a half dozen stupid crossover ideas I'll never do for various reasons, things like It's Always Sunny In Fillydelphia (I don't even know if it's possible, simply because Sunny's predicated on complete disharmony and FIM is predicated on general harmony with occasional burps, plus it's going to be so painful to read) and Dash The Vampony Hunter (probably already done a few dozen times).
*crashes into bed*
I'd read an Always Sunny parody/crossover. They wouldn't have to be quite so evil like they are in the show, more just really really awkward and less then generous than the Mane 6.
Awkward ponies are the best ponies.

To me the selfishness of Sunny is the key aspect of it. If any of those people gave anything resembling a fuck about anyone else, the show would just look . . . weird.
Although, maybe you've got a point. Stupid plans plus awkward putting-one's-hoof-in-one's-mouth . . . mmm. Maybe.
I'm not sure how much it'll read like Sunny if there's not significant unintentional cruelty, though.
EDITED: That's why you shouldn't drink and blog, kids. I left out a whole fuckin' sentence.
Fair, but I think you can get a lot of mileage from having some really selfish ponies but the rest of the citizens constantly saying "what is WRONG with you?":
I think there's some give and take in Sunny because the people they run into are only marginally better than them. What if they innocents they run into were like basically angels?

I'm toying with the idea of going dark comedy entirely. (The Elements actually kill Nightmare Moon, and Celestia's just dumbstruck at how gleeful they all are. "We totally destroyed that bitch!" and such. But then it's wildly OOC. I just don't know.)
I guess that's what 'alt universe' is for...?
