    UK Elections

    Congratulations, Brits.

I was rooting for the Elmo cosplayer, but the Trump cosplayer seems nice. The tweet salt is quite fantastic, gonna mine me some for a while.

    The Outer Worlds

I got the game because it looked like the Fallout fix I needed. Obsidian, who made New Vegas, made it. It looked like Space Fallout and had a lot of similarities. Waited for the Black Friday sale, then grabbed it for $48. Thanks for the holiday, you turkey-eating Americans.

On things I just watched on youtube · 1:46pm May 20th, 2013

On chapter progress - A new distraction has arrived: Guild Wars 2. Diablo 3 quickly lost its charm and I had thought that I'd never touch an MMORPG after quitting WoW, but my brother bought the game and let me try it out. I also played the first Guild Wars so I wanted to see what they had done with it. I enjoyed it, especially how they removed the typical tank/healer/dps roles in most MMOs. Now, the urge to get 100% completion on yet another map is starting to compete with my writing.

Double Rainboom - I know it's been out for a while, but I've only recently spotted it on youtube so I get to watch and comment on it now. As I understand, this is supposed to be a pretty big thing for the fandom: a fan made episode close to the real thing, a testament to the sheer producing power that this fandom has.

I found it...okay. Decent. I wish I could say I adored it, but no.

Positives - It looks and sounds great. The production quality is clearly its greatest strength and it comes quite close to what we'd actually see from the real show. A lot of work was put into this when it comes to animation and it does show.

Negatives - I didn't like the crossover elements. Then again, I tend not to like crossovers, especially if they're not the integrative sort, but instead rely on characters from World A meeting characters from World B. There's also an overdose of memes, many of which didn't serve much purpose. I don't like memes in general, especially when they're used to substitute for humor. The ending was a little abrupt and contrived, and the lesson of the episode as presented by Rainbow's letter to the princess, was all over the place.

The Equestria Girls Trailer - When I saw the pictures, I said that I thought the artwork was bad. After watching the trailer, I have concluded that the artwork truly is bad. Spike is apparently a dog. I do not know what happened during the production of the later seasons of MLP: FiM and now EG, but I think at some point, some of the writers suddenly developed an intense grudge against Spike, first subjecting him to "Spike at your Service" and now this. So Twilight didn't run out of her house with a piece of toast in her mouth. However, she did bump into a boy (in a leather jacket, good lord) in a typical "meet cute" fashion. Got some very bad vibes about that. The antagonist is a "queen bee" and there's a prom involved. Yeah, things are not looking up.

Speaking of the antagonist, I read somewhere that Sunset Shimmer is supposedly a former student of Celestia. I think that's a huge story potential that ought to be mined for all its worth in the actual MLP: FiM (If she shows up there) or even in EG. It will be disappointing if she's just treated as your typical queen bee bad student.

agreed, agreed, and agreed 100% on double rainboom.....

equestria girls....i'm a little on the fence, i can't decide yet on what it will be like and i don't want to....

one of my pet peeves is people judging how good a movie or show will be before they watch the movie or see a GOOD episode of the show

Double Rainboom, with all its buildup and promise for high quality that was given to us, was mediocre at best imo. I won't restate the points you mentioned because why you didn't like it much is pretty much my reasons as well. Equestria Girls...yeah I'm not sure what to expect yet but for now I don't see it turning out to be all that good. I will watch it after it hits youtube at some point I imagine. That is unless the fandom itself crushes it into the ground with negative reviews and what not.:twilightoops:

And while you're in the middle of catching up on stuff have you seen Snowdrop?

Oh and cool finding Guild Wars 2. I'm still on the fence about buying it but it's definitely a possibility. Want to do a little more research/hear some more opinions on it first. Have fun with it:twilightsmile:

Yeah, I felt really, really awkward watching Double Rainboom to the point that I couldn't bear to finish it.:twilightsheepish:

Equestria Girls, strangely enough, felt alright by me. I was against the whole 'turning into human' thing, but after watching the trailer, I thought that it could be possibly decent. Assuming there is more to the plot than what the synopsis and trailer let on (which, by the way I found incredibly cliche and uninteresting).

I can't play Guild Wars 2. It's the worst pig simulator I've ever seen! :trollestia:
