Actually, the trailer exceeded my expectations of the nature of this movie based on the concept it provided.
For one, I'm (in one aspect) glad they made the humans multicolored. Odd as they may seem, it certainly explains why a purple human doesn't strike to the students as odd. Granted, it probably would've been better to just have everyone––including the main characters––colored normally. I'm also glad that they got rid of the unicorn and pegasus traits on the characters.
I know longer think it will be a bad movie....but I will not say that it can be considered a good one either.

I got mixed opinions about Equestria Girls but leaning towards the negative side of things.
On one hoof, it doesn't look too bad but I hate the end goal of the movie (surprise, surprise) and the premise is shaky enough for me.
On the other hoof, I'm incredibly disappointed that this didn't give us an expansion (world building-wise) on anything that has been covered in the main show: Celestia's and Luna's rule then Luna's corruption into Nightmare Moon, Discord's rule, the Changelings, or King Sombra (he needs more screentime and more character molding. Plus I refuse to believe he is dead because he seems the type of villain who thinks that death is a inconvenience to him and he seems to have the power to back it up despite being a unicorn.).
I honestly don't see anything wrong with it. I'm only disappointed because s3 was so short because of it.
