    Just Keep Typing...

    Hey Peeps.

Things are still slogging along, in spite of what it may seem.
Unfortunately things may come to a temporary halt for another fair stint.

    Over a Year

It has been over a year since my last chapter was put up.

Does that make me a bad person?

*ducks and cowers from the loud, resounding confirmations*

What if I just posted another chapter and took my fic off its hiatus status? Still a bad guy?

    *ducks thrown objects*

    Time Keeps Marching On

It's that time of year again. Probably time to update something if not my story.

That probably isn't what any of you wanted to hear though, am I right? Yeah admittedly I really wanted to have a new chapter up too. Alas twas not to be!

    The Empire Strikes Back!

Or in this case, the Everfree.

New chapter is up! Hope it was worth the wait. I forewarned it's more dark nature in my last post, but with my editor freshly traumatized, I perhaps need to make another warning here.

What Dreams May Come · 12:00am May 9th, 2013

And what does that mean? It means something's brewing. There is a whisper in the back of my mind, a thought playing back there that lies just beyond my reach, a vision just past my peripheral... A concept that I could flush out, a tale that could be told, a story to be written.

Our Time to Fly is nearing its home stretch, only 3 chapters left that I need to write, so thoughts of what to do next have plagued me. I thought that this might be it for me, a one near-hit wonder. Just some emotions I needed to get off my chest and share with any that would care to read. I thought that they would be vented away, and that would be that. I'd submit the result to a couple places and be done with the whole thought about writing.

I was wrong.

Wonder has taken its hold of my will, and has challenged me to provide further entertainment, to do more than I ad first thought I would, or should ever! If there is one thing I have always had a weakness for, it has and always will be wonder and everything that comes with. New thoughts of possible plots have surfaced, and should my word craft be up to the task, I would would write them. Dreams of 'what if' and 'maybe this' now lay siege upon the walls of my mind, and I already find I'm putting together the outline of something new even as I leave chapter 10 half finished, and giving me scornful looks from its corner in my GDocs.

"Leave me be!" I call to its glare, "for there is yet more to do, and you have left me at a loss for the time being. "

And it's true, though not completely so. The only loss I experience is no block, but a factor of time. The course I am on has given me little, the books I study are unforgiving and allow for few and far between in the way of distractions. My writing suffers for it, and my buffer of chapters dwindles ever more. Chapter 9 is finished and will be out come the last week of May, but I cannot say if June will hold chapter 10.

What little time is afforded to me is enough for scavenging through random strings of thoughts, and sorting them out upon paper. What thoughts you might ask? Well you can thank DarkPhantom13 for them, as they are all about Spike and Twilight exploring his draconic instincts with the encouragement, assistance, and determination of all their friends.

I'll be doing things different this time though. It will be more of a series, than a story. It will come in episodic parts and archs, rather than one huge long chapter. Some will be longer than others, for instance Spike's hatchling years in Canterlot will probably be a one shot, where his exploration of dragon sleep will likely be closer to 4. At least that's the plan, nothing's in cement yet, if you have ideas of what art of dragon nature you'd like me to strike at, and how let me know and we can chat about it.

I hope you enjoy Our Time to Fly, and I hope you enjoy what other tales I have to tell as well, and all the dreams that may come with them.

Cheers!
