You know, while I'm still doing what I can about the Sweetie Belle group, I'm starting to think I'm not going to get anywhere. I don't think the site admins really want to talk to me.
Which means I may just have to recreate the Sweetie Belle group from scratch, and try to get everypony to join the new one and leave the old one. Seems like a major pain in the flank. Hope knighty or Xaquseg responds to my pms about it...

Well, if you look at the Sweetie Belle group, you'll see that the only admin is Bass Kick. And if you look at his account, he hasn't logged in in 34 weeks.
I was actually trying to get closer ties between the various CMC groups when I realized this. So I set up a thread on the group, trying to get ahold of him, besides trying to pm him.
A half dozen people that were interested in helping run it posted, and eventually there was a post from TkPony. He says that he is actually Bass Kick, and that he is locked out of his account. And apparently has no idea what e-mail is on his account.
I started sending pms around about this to various people. If TkPony is Bass Kick, it'd be preferable to get him back into his account, but even if he isn't, the group needs an admin. I was figuring if I could get admin rights, I could recruit admins from that thread, and make sure it didn't go adminless again.
Wlah told me that the only ones that could assign admin rights on groups were knighty or Xaquseg. Who never responded to my pm's. Or pms from arcum42, who is going through the same thing with the Cutie Mark Crusaders group. That admin is unreachable, and has been for more then a year.
Latest is that about a week ago, DJ Garv the Expert briefly about it in chat. He apparently as going to talk to knighty about setting up some sort of group admin policy, so I'm left waiting to see if anything comes for that.
It's really frustrating when they don't reply to pms, though, and I don't want to assume they didn't read them and repeatedly send them pms about the situation...

Thanks! I really really appreciate this! I'll start getting an admin team together, so that it never goes adminless again. I'll have to decide if TkPony gets admin rights or not, too, but I suppose that'll be a matter of deciding how much I trust him.
Is there anywhere I should direct others with this issue[1]? Or is there going to be an official way to deal with this in the future? I'd hate to just direct everyone to you about this, since I'm sure you already have enough to do as it is...

[1] Ones I know of: arcum42 is trying to get admin rights for the Cutie Mark Crusaders group, and DJ Garv the Expert has been trying to get rights for the Music Lovers group. In fact, DJ Garv has effectively been running the latter for a while as a user, given all the sticky threads at the top were started by him.

Ok. I know arcum42 sent some pms to both around the time I did, and both arcum42 & DJ Garv the Expert have a message about the groups on Xaquseg's home page. I'll let them know to keep trying. I think they're waiting on that group admin policy right now, though.
The Sweetie Belle group already has a new banner, new front page, a few new folders, discussion going on about changes to make, and featured reviews by SilentBelle, so I think I'm well on the way to making it a better group. Thanks for giving me a chance to do that.
