Good news and Bad news · 9:23am Apr 29th, 2013
First off the good news, I've finally been able to sit down and finish recapping events in Twilights perspective, went from about 700 words to 2000 in one night. Now this is usually the point where I would be celebrating because I'm nearly halfway done as I usually shoot for a 5k minimum. But as I'm planning on wrapping up the first act, this might require more than that.
So good news the story is progressing, bad news it's difficult to find the time and frankly the motivation. I usually can only put out 3 to 4 hundred words in a day.
I know a lot of you hate the long waits between chapters, but the perils of college life require my attention most of the time. So in the meantime I leave you with Three bits of wisdom. Of witch have shaped my views on human life and my place in the universe.
The first is from Carl Sagan, an excerpt from A Pale Blue Dot.
The second is from Neil deGrasse Tyson. Explaining what he believes to be the most astounding fact that humanity has uncovered.
The third, believe it or not, is from an old comical move based on the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. Death himself gives us his views on what it means to be human.
Don't be surprised if one or two of these find their way into the story at some point.
Great words are meant to be spoken.
I swear, every time I hear "bad news..." from some author I really look forward to the story of, I assume the worst, like it's been cancelled or something.
But yeah, college, it definitely has a higher priority than pony fics, nobody (sane) can deny you that.
My brain is starving man! I don't have any words to digest!
I'll just keep waiting patiently then.
Those videos remind me of a certain song by Jorge Drexler. It's in Spanish though
Focus on real life first, we can wait
Like I said, we can wait. Take care of what you need to first.
Damn you institutes of supposed higher learning!
Oh well, you do what you can, when you can, how you can. I guess.
I know those videos by heart, still do.
But to the wait... I can handle the wait.

I have nothing but time.
Its just great hearing that the story's progressing.
Good luck this is a great story. But I think that you may want to add a bit of a few parts in your ark that show's Twilight trying to figure out the strange new creature. If anything I think Troy would need to interact more with Twilight and company before he's comfortable with trying to show up in ponyville...which may start a panic especially since he can't speak the language and vice versa.

My current plan is that the second act shifts focus from survival to human-pony interaction. So there is going to be a lot of what you're asking for in the future.

That's great it would be interesting to see twilight try to unravel the mysteries of the strange new creature.
I wonder still how celestia will respond to the new creature that seem's to be able to ignore magic to a point.
So now that college is down how's it looking?

sorry, but college is still on for me. I got about three weeks, give or take a week.

College in June? What sort of monstrous school is forcing that on you?
Also, is it College as in College, or College as in 'Actually University, but Americans are weird and can't name stuff right'.
1125174 Its actually a Technical college, dunno if that makes a difference.
It's cool we'll wait. In the meantime I'll hope that humanity will slowly keep learning to live in peace and that we will someday all set aside our differences before it's too late. I pray for the day we live, in harmony.

Any update on the progress of the story now that college is apparently out?
