    Stories resubmitted

    Hello,

I hit the resubmit button on my old stories "Lick," "The Art of Falling," and "Sapphire" because someone asked me to. I don't remember exactly why I unsubmitted them or when. They should be visible on the site again.

    Enjoy the finale.

    Best,
    HBAO

I finished Some Hugs Last Longer Than Others

A long time ago, years ago actually, I said I'd finish my last fic. I did try a few times, a couple different finished versions have existed. But they were all terrible. Some Hugs was a problem story from the very beginning. The concept seemed like comedy gold. Pinkie Pie glues herself to Rainbow Dash. Hilarity ensues.

How was the Friendship is Magic movie?

So there was a Friendship is Magic movie released semi-recently? I haven't seen it, but I was looking around for fans of the show's reactions, and I can't seem to find much discussion anywhere. Did we all hate it, or what?

Writing is Dumb - Part Two of the Story of the Story of Spring is Dumb

Once upon a time, I started a full making-of-style commentary of the creation of Spring is Dumb. The first part describing the prewriting of the story looked like this. Now, about two

    I published a story!

Your favorite fimfic author is taking his very first tippety toe baby step toe touch into the wild and wonderful world of original fiction publishing, and that first step is this thing, which you can find here. Might look very familiar if you participated in the Writeoff's

Twisting Between the Sheets - Rewrite · 10:55pm Apr 26th, 2013

If anyone were to go check TBtS's page, they would see that Part 4 has been unpublished and the fic has been remarked incomplete (if you were really observant, you might notice that Disgraced has been remarked incomplete too, but I'll get to that one some other time).

I have a problem, and that problem is that I like to get things right. I hate losing. When I don't get things right, I spend a lot of time thinking about all the reasons why I didn't get it right and all the ways I could have done better. This is particularly bad with writing because I've found that I'm never able to get things perfect, and I never will, but I try anyway.

It's this reason that I rewrote Rarity's Mare of the Evening into Twisting Between the Sheets (I need to start coming up with shorter titles) in the first place, and it's the reason I'm now (and the irony of rewriting a rewrite isn't lost on me) rewriting the last part of Twisting Between the Sheets.

I'm aware of the problem of revising something people have already read, that's why I'm not tearing the whole thing back down to the floor and starting all over again. I can however still in good conscience change those last few scenes to better fit the tone and theme of the story. The resolution will be the same, but it will happen differently, and it won't be written with the pseudo-happily-ever-after haze.

I apologize for taking something that has already been read. I will put it back up when I post the rewritten version. Also, if anyone who enjoyed (or didn't enjoy) the fic before would be interested in doing some quick pre reading of the new version when it's finished I would be extremely grateful.

If you want, I would like to help. You have a good premise and without meaning any disrespect, I don't think you have been looking at the story in a big enough scope.

Well, I'd be interested to know what you mean by that. Though, I'm not willing to do any sort of full rewrite, at least not right now. I do have some interest in expanding it, but still not right now. I'd just like to fix what little I can now. Of course, any and all feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Either way, I'll be in touch sometime soon.
