I kept saying to this latest chapter of History as I was putting it together. "Just because you're chapter 9 doesn't mean you hafta be nine thousand words long. There's still the Epilogue to come, after all: you don't need to put the total word count for the story over the 60,000 line all by yourself! And another sex scene? Haven't we had enough of that by now? And what's with this character quoting Harlan Ellison and paraphrasing William Goldman in the same paragraph? Just a little bit 'meta,' wouldn't you say?"
But did the chapter listen to me? No, it did not! And it made me eight minutes late getting it posted last night, too! Oh, how sharper than a serpent's tooth et cetera, et cetera...

It's bad enough when your characters start disobeying you and getting ideas of their own; when the whole story does it, you know you and your imagination need to have a long, stern talk!

One of the main reasons:
I decided to do these Applejack/Futashy stories was to see if I could manage to write something so alien to my experience as a sex scene. I'm pretty happy with how they've turned out, but I am definitely looking forward to getting back to my usual "light action-adventure" stuff!

My imagination is a "big picture person." It comes up with all this wild and fancy stuff, then leaves it to me to actually type out the words to describe it. Shocking!
