Human:
There! I finally got an update out. It's only an interlude, but it's better than what you were going to have, which is nothing. So there.
Next proper chapter will be out sometime I don't even know when.
Van Helsing:
Finally, I got this thing out. For those interested, it's set in the same continuity as Human, beginning a bit over a century before Second's resurrection at the hooves of the Brotherhood. It'll be a more serious story for those who like Human for its darker elements, though don't expect it to be completely devoid of ANY humour, it's just no longer enough to warrant the comedy tag. And though it'll feature a lot of references to the setting I've built, it's nothing that'll lose anyone who hasn't read either the original story or Shades. For all intents and purposes, it can be read as a normal vampire story. So if you have any friends who are enthusiasts of vampire fiction and you think it worthy, by all means pass the story along to them. (Please.) The focus will naturally be on Van Helsing, the vampire-slaying cousin of Soft Spoken seen in flashbacks during recent chapters of Human, and you can expect a young Soft Spoken to play a role in this saga as well.

Wanderer's Diary:
The Lone Wanderer continues to find all new ways to kill things gleefully, in Wanderer's Diary: Weeks Nineteen and Twenty.
This update: Christmas, the MIRV, and Project Purity.
Season Finale:
That season finale was fucking amazing, especially considering they only had a single episode to do it in. I put it above Crystal Empire, even though that was a two parter and was pretty decent itself. It also had the best songs of the season IMO, and all of the first half with the mixed up cutie marks was really fun, and easily could have filled the whole episode by itself.
If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of Discord, but they can't possibly fit in everything. I'm glad that they were able to fit in Shining, and Cadence, and Luna, and Vinyl Scratch, and Derpy, and all the other characters we see relatively little of, like Twilight's parents, who I keep hoping will have a speaking role one of these days.
Besides, this apparently being a three parter that continues on into season four, he might still show up then.
Tell you what, though. I was dead wrong about Sombra returning. Guess that's it. I'm kinda disappointed. Maybe we were just reading too much into that whole horn thing. I don't know. I still hope he returns in a later season or something, because I do want to learn more about him, but it looks like this really was all they had for him. Ah well.
SO HOW ABOUT THAT EQUESTRIA GIRLS SPIN-OFF? LOOKS GOOD, DOESN'T IT GUYS?
I hadn't given wanderers diary a read until last week, but when I did, I immediately loved it. It has the crazy insanity that human is full of and then some, you have done an excellent job on it.
I think i'll give Van Helsing a read too, because its basically a fact that whatever you write is crazy good.

Well I've read Van Helsing today and I gotta say it's realy freaking awesome. I already faved it and can't wait for more.
And hell I don't care if the new chapter in Human is an interlude even the interludes are great.
So now... about the season finale... I'll be honest it was pretty much what I expected, the songs were of course great and there was one particular plot hole, remember the whole memory spell and Twi said it wouldn't work? Well how would she know if she didn't even try it and her friends of course didn't remember what they're supposed to do and had no memory of their talents so I'm fairly certain the memory spell would've worked. That was my gripe with this... and now on to the subject of AliTwi, I'll get used to it... eventually. BUT after about a day of contemplation on what I tought of the finale I have now FINALY realized why I despise the alicorn thing so much... It's because about 80-85% of the fandom views alicorns as like these "all powerful immortal gods" which is complete bullshit.
I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from most people don't seem to know the definition of immortality. The definition of it is that you literaly can not die from anything ever which isn't true with either Celestia or Luna they're still ponies and therefore biological beings, they just have longer lives than most. Which brings me to my next point, I don't think Cadence and Twi are actual alicorns I'd say they're just winged unicorns or "lesser alicorns" which means I don't think they have the long lives like Cel and Luna and this is just my theory but I think Luna and Cel were born as alicorns and not made like Cadence and Twi.
So now you know why I was so against the idea cause the fandom is gonna view Twi as some kinda "god". Mostly in fics though which is gonna bother me to no end. Sorry for the rant though, I had to vent and sometimes this fandom frustrates me.

That's always been the problem. Raising the sun by yourself would be considered something godlike in our culture, so ever since the pilot when we found out that the sisters could do that, this fandom took that to the logical extreme and made them literally gods, forgetting that in Equestrian culture, that's really not as exceptional as it sounds. Pegasi collectively control the weather, and that's not considered special. Similarly, unicorns used to collectively control the solar cycles before the sisters came along.
Thing is, that fan theory was made early on, so it became ingrained deeply into the fandom. So deep, in fact, that when season two began to contradict it with episodes like Hearth's Warming Eve and Canterlot Wedding, some of those people angrily rejected it, choosing to say that canon was bad and getting it wrong while their fan theories based on only a single season of content were right. Those same people were probably also the ones who got in the most uproar over the introduction of new alicorns, over this whole "it makes them less special" argument.
Which I really don't see a problem with. It's already established they're not gods. They're just a bit more powerful than most. And I don't see why others can't also be "a bit more powerful than most". To that end, I also don't think there's any basis for assuming that Twilight or Cadence for some reason lack any qualities that Celestia or Luna have, and I don't think we can really assume anything about Celestia or Luna's past either. Maybe they were given alicorn form the same way Twi was. We don't know. And I think it's rather arrogant for either of us to pretend we do when neither of us are show writers. That whole attitude is just another way of trying to put Celestia and Luna on a pedestal and refusing to let them share it, even with other alicorns like themselves, and I just don't understand why people do it.

Well let's be honest here this is still a kids show so it won't delve into something complex as "immortality" and the show will probably end before the mane6 even age to the point of Granny Smith. And I'm not saying that alicorns should be special, it's just that something like having a long life is in many cases considered more of a curse than a blessing (I learned that from Doctor Who so you see where I'm coming from) and the reason I think Twi and Cadence aren't like Cel and Luna with the long life and stuff is cause Cel ruled for a thousand years (which is a long ass time) so there is no way that she didn't find other ponies that would be worthy of being an alicorn my point stands with Cadence now this is also just a theory but I think she's a descendant of the Crystal Queen and was most probably a student of Cel and has probably proven herself to be a worthy princess. Also I'm not realy putting Cel and Luna on a pedestal I just consider them ponies with more power than most.
Yes, yes I know we aren't the writers and shouldn't speculate like that but still it's fun coming up with our own fanon theories with what we're given. FiM fictions wouldn't exist otherwise.

Maybe ponies who are worthy really are just that rare. And maybe there are even more alicorns and we just haven't seen them yet. They could have a whole kingdom of their own just over the mountain and it just hasn't been seen or mentioned yet because it was never relevant to the current conversation.
The point I'm trying to make here is that anything we speculate against the argument of whether Twi or Cadence are immortal is pretty baseless, and can be counter-argued with equally baseless claims, so there's little point to assuming that Cadence and Twi are significantly different from Cel and Luna. All I'm seeing is that the sisters are alicorns and lived a long time, and that now these two other ponies are alicorns too. Why shouldn't they also live a long time? No reasons, except for those we make up, and I don't see any need to make up reasons unless we're doing the pedestal thing I was talking about.

But seriously though I already said that long lives can be considered a curse and I didn't say they shouldn't but look from it this way what would happen to Cadence and Twi if they'd had to see their loved ones age and wither away? Also all just assumptions but you get my meaning. But I already told you these kind of things won't be discussed in the show cause the subject of the matter is death and something like that can't be in a show for little girls. We both know the target demographic is gonna stay that way no matter what. That's why this new spin off is being released which is for young teenage girls.
And the whole alicorn kingdom thing... yeah the fandom said that alicorns are special and the show more or less considers them that aswell they're extrodinary ponies and so far only mares got the wings I don't see any princes with wings, do you?

I have no idea. I really don't know the first thing about EG and I don't care. It's not FiM, that much has been made clear. I'll watch it when it comes out, and since it'll have trailers and promos I'll likely end up watching those beforehand too, willingly or otherwise, and hear all the people I follow bitch about it most likely, but I have no desire to expend brain cells speculating about it.
I'm not going to get all down about it and get out my apocalypse sandwich board like everyone has been doing, but I don't have pretend to excited for it either.
