Ever since the recent design changes:
Here at FimFiction, I've noticed that the word counter on my chapters disagrees with the one on my word processing program. I mean, I did my ding-dangedest to keep the third chapter of "History" under 6,000 words, whittling at it and whittling at it all day yesterday to reach a final count of 5,946. And when I posted it earlier today? FimFiction says 6,667!
So this is me taking a breath, letting it go, and moving on.

That's a big disparity...
Me thinks Fimfiction is counting spaces as word counts. Derp. Or some characters being dissected into what they'd add up in key strokes from ascii somehow. I think it's just counting spaces as words lols
It might be counting any html formatting words as chapter words.
That's really weird, but oh well, word count doesn't matter immensely anyway I suppose

And I think we all know that I am--I would save my chapters as "plain text," then copy-n-paste 'em into the template here just to see if that made any difference. Ah, experimentation!
