    Alright.

PSA to whatever amount of followers actually read this bullshit anymore - I'm quitting FIMFiction. This blog post will be my last. I will no longer post on this account. I say those specific words because maybe I will come back but I do not wish to constantly have the name and standards of TPR on it. This is a personal issue of my own, influenced by many things (anxiety, depression, life in

    I'm not dead. I guess?

Hi, everyone. Reagan / Toni / The Princess Rarity here. I assume most of you thought I was dead, quit the site, et cetera. Obviously, this is not the case. I have no good excuses for my hiatus - I mean, sure, there's school and work and anxiety and other fandoms, along with life in general - but oh, well. Sorry I've been gone so long.

New year, and somewhat new me!

Hey, guys. Long time, no see, right? I mean, aside from the occasional blog post or very rare story, you don’t see me as often as you’d like. I guess that’s expected, seeing how 2015 has been quite the rollercoaster for me; and I’m assuming the same for some of you guys as well. Which is why I’d like to take but a few minutes of time to explain some stuff to you guys.

Don't ask me what this is, because I don't even know.

I honestly just sat down and wrote this in one sitting because feelings. It's not much, really, it should be classified as a drabble but it's whatever, I guess. I'm only posting it here because it follows the word guideline limits.

[Interview] With me!~~~~ · 5:19pm Jan 22nd, 2013

(I got bored and saw one of those Interview blogs. Decided to do one for myself based on what I think is my best story yet. Deal with it.)

Where do you live?

Philadelphia. Ain't nothing like it, though, to be honest, I've always wanted to move to London... just saying.

What kind of work do you do? (i.e. are you a student, do you have a career/day job, etc)

I'm just some seventh grader who has a job w/ writing fanfiction, is all. Unfort, I don't get paid.

How did you discover My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? When did you realize you were a fan of the show?

I was on the Cheezburger site and accidentally hit a random link. Before I knew it, I was on this strange new site called "My Little Brony" and found out My Little Pony was brought back! At first I didn't care, but when I saw how different they looked, that attracted me and I inspected more of the site. Now, I won't bore you all with the details, but let's just say the cuteness of it all nearly made my heart explode! I then looked up the show, picked an random episode to watch and BAM. I had joined a new fandom.

Do you have a favorite episode?

"Magic Duel"; because I just love how bad-flank Trixie was in that. Seriously. Her comeback was totally worth the wait.

Who is your favorite character based purely on the canon of the show itself? Would your answer change if you considered the fandom in its entirety (i.e. art, fanfiction, memes, etc)?

My favorite character? ... Rarity. I just love her, I don't know why, because, to be honest, if I was friends with someone like that in real life (or at least knew them), I wouldn't be able to stand 'em! But I guess the fact that she's such a fashionista and how prissy she is makes me laugh. However, if all of the backgrounders were canon, Vinyl Scratch is where it's at. I just... I dunno how to describe how awesome that crazy partying DJ is.

How did you come up with your handle/penname?

Uh, to be honest, I originally wanted to my username to be "The Princess" but that was taken, so I decided to add my fave Mane Six pony in there because, c'mon, let's face it, Rarity would make an epic Princess (hopefully).

Have you written in other capacities (other fandoms, professionally, etc)? When did you first start writing?

Well, My Little Pony has become one of my main fandoms, but Monster High is right behind. I just love the concept of both cartoons so so much!

And, actually, I don't really know when I first started writing. I think when I was around ten.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

Talking with my online friends, watching the few decent tv shows they have and listening to music (which inspires all of my fics)

Who is your favorite author (published or fanfiction)? Do you have a favorite story or novel?

Well, my favorite published, y'know book, author is hard to determine. I really love books written by Lauren Myracle, because she pushes the boundaries and doesn't care, but Julie Anne Peters writes such fabulous LGBT drama, it's hard to resist.

In fanfiction, though, is way~~~ too hard for me say. (Mainly because some people would kill me if I didn't mention them... Kidding!)

But in books, for faves, hmm... well, I really like The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games (I prefer the movies when it comes to Harry Potter), along with anything written by the two authors I just mentioned.

Do you have any tips for aspiring writers, or writers who are struggling with their own stories?

Music can take you to another world, so maybe you should look for ideas in that. Also, they need to stop stalling, walk away from the computer, go to their favorite place and think. Just... think. And if you're having trouble getting the words out, I recommend buying speech recognition software. You can say your thoughts aloud.

What is your typical writing process? (Do you work through multiple drafts, do you have any prereaders/editors, etc?)

Uh, to be honest, I just put on my headphones, play some inspirational music and type. When I'm done, I check everything and edit, y'know, the usual. Then it's publishing time. Unless I'm cowriting w/ someone, I don't really care about what I do when I write.

What inspired you to write "The Electric Beats of a DJ's Heart"?

My own life struggles. Yes, yes, I know, you're probably thinking "What struggles could a twelve year old have?" and my answer is... it's possible.

You see, when I was eight years old, I did some acting classes. I got noticed and a call from an agent and everything... Stupidly, I turned it down. I still don't know why I did that, to be honest, and when I realized that it was far too late to call the agent back and beg to get another chance, that's when regret hit me. The regret Vinyl felt about leaving home was basically me not going to see that agent.

Nowadays, I've got mixed feelings about it. I mean, if I never quit, I would have never started writing fanfiction, and that's changed my life. I have an irreplaceable feeling everytime I sit in front of my computer and type. It's something I wouldn't trade for anything in the world.

Did you run into any tough spots or challenges when writing "The Electric Beats of a DJ's Heart"?

Not really... except for the fact that I ran out of iced tea and Oreos.

When you set out to write "The Electric Beats of a DJ's Heart", did you have any specific messages or themes in mind?

At first, no, no, I didn't. I just wanted to get out all of the feelings I've been hiding. But once it was done, and I was proofreading, I realized "Shit. I'm confessing a huge part of my life to a bunch of people I don't even know."

...

But I didn't care. I hit "Submit" anyway. And I'm glad you all read that. It lifted a huge burden off of my chest.

WHY IS THE WORLD SO CRUEL!!

This was nice. It's nice to know literature isn't dead with this generation. It's always nice to know a little about an author. I usually read the about the author things in the back of books. And forwards and afterwards. And I'm sorry to hear about the agent thing. But live and learn, right?

P.S. I've also always wanted to move to London. Alaska more though.

I've always wanted to move to London

Don't. It's crappy, the weather's awful and the crime level is so damn high. :ajbemused:

Otherwise, very interesting! ^_^

I find its always intresting to learn about the people i read stuff from.
I always wanted to go to desert area's, first as a holiday so i can check if i actually want to live in such a place. :twilightblush:
But yeah, this was all very intresting.
And about music, music is just amazing.
