What have I been doing for the past few days? Creating the character: Gibbers · 2:19am Jan 20th, 2013

This was made using D&D 3.5 rules. Here is his stat block.

(FYI, even though the spell "awaken" was used to create him, the DM said that I didn't have to add the 2HD animal, which would nerf him hard.)

Flying Squirrel, 1st-level Swordsage
Tiny Animal (Augmented)
Hit Dice: 1d8+3 (11hp)
Initiative: +7
Speed: 20ft. (4 squares), Climb 20ft., Fly 10ft. (clumsy) (see Glide)
Armor Class: 20 (+2 size, +6 dex, +2 Leather Armor)
(touch 18, flat-footed 14)
Base Attack/Grapple: +0/-8
Attack: Rapier +9 melee (1d3) or Crossbow +8 ranged (1d4) or dagger +8 (1d2) or bite +8 (1d3)
Space/Reach: 2-1/2ft./0ft
Special Qualities: Glide (Ex), Scent (Ex) Low-Light Vision (Ex), Martial Maneuvers (Su), Martial Stances (Su)
Saves: Fort +3, Ref +8, Will +7
Abilities: Str 10, Dex 22, Con 16, Int 18, Wis 20, Cha 12
Skills (only notable listed): Balance +18, Climb +18, Hide +22, Jump -2, Move Silently +14, Tumble +10
Feats: Weapon Finesse
Languages: Common, Elvish, Gnome, Halfling, Sylvan
Awesomeness: Too much

Glide (Ex) When flying, a Flying Squirrel cannot gain altitude.

Scent (Ex): A creature with scent can track a creature with its scent. I'm not typing out the five paragraph long thing of this thing.

Low-Light Vision (Ex): A creature with this ability can see in dim light with no penalties, but not total darkness.

Martial Maneuvers (Su): Being a Swordsage, Gibbers has access to various Martial Maneuvers. At 1st level, he knows six, and can ready 4 (these are like spells).
- Distracting Embers: Swift: Until the end of your turn, summon a small Fire Elemental.
- Moment of Perfect mind: Immediate: You may use your Concentration Modifier instead of your Will Save. You must declare this before you roll.
- Sapphire Nightmare Blade: Standard: Make an attack against an enemy. When you attack, made a Concentration Check against an opponent's AC. If you exceed it, he is flat-footed and you deal an extra 1d6 damage. If you fail, you take a -2 to your attack.
- Counter Charge: Immediate: Make an opposed Strength or Dexterity check against a charging opponent. That opponent must choose the same ability as you did (strength or dexterity). If you are at least one size larger, you get a +4 to your Str roll, and if at least one size smaller, a +4 to your Dex. If you succeed, the attack is negated, and you may move him two squares away from you. If you fail, then he gets an additional +2 to his charge attack.
- Clinging Shadow Strike: Standard: Make an attack against an enemy. If you hit, you deal an addtional 1d6 damage, and your opponent must make a Will save (DC11+Wis Mod). If he fails, you gain 20% concealment against him until your next turn.
-Shadow Blade Technique: Standard: Make an attack against an enemy. When you do, roll 2d20 instead of the normal attack. If one hits, then roll damage as normal. If both hit, then deal an extra 1d6 cold damage.

Martial Stances (Su): As a 1st level Swordsage, Gibbers has access to one Martial Stance. It takes a swift action to activate one (they last until I say they do, and they are always on, even outside of battle.).
Child of Shadows: If Gibbers moves 10ft. in a round, he gains concealment (20% miss chance) until his next turn. This only works if he is able to hide as normal.

Final Note: Flying Squirrels get a -8 Str, +4 Dex, +0 Con, +2 Int, +2 Wis, -2 Cha

OP.

That's all I have to say.

I wouldn't know never played

729599 The fact that he is a flying squirrel, and because his intelligence is a 18 and wisdom a 20, he's smarter than the vast majority of humans (average person has a stat of 10)

And he's a fucking squirrel with a rapier.

729607 See, that's exactly what I meant. Squirrels are already OP (I mean look at them climb) but FLYING SQUIRRELS?!

WITH RAPIERS?!

729611 Yeah. Best part? He could easily kill someone, and never get hit.

729613 Educate yourself. (Takes a little bit to load)

And then just before he makes his grand introduction the Wizard steps on him. :trollestia:

729667 I actually got really deep with this character.

Basically he's 1 year old (give or take), and has 5 years left to live (flying squirrels have this long of a life expectancy), and he knows it. Further, because he's a squirrel—a normally unintelligent species—he questions whether there is even a heaven for him so his entirely short life, he has an internal battle over it.

On one hand, he "realizes" that because his life is short, it isn't as valuable that his isn't as precious as that of an elf, who can live 60x as long as him. Therefore, when he goes into battle, he will willingly throw himself in front of his allies, and will readily take a hit as long as it means they do not take it.

On the other, he is scared of what will happen if he dies, and if there even is an afterlife for him at all. What would happen if he dies, and that's it—no afterlife, no living with the gods, nothing? With that, every time that he goes into battle, he has to push this part of his mind away, and try to overcome it. However, that said, he will not readily throw away his life for nothing. Sacrificing it for someone is one thing, but wasting it is something else entirely.

729611>>729613>>729667

Told my DM about this build. He's threatening to send my Squirrel Lich brother after me if I play him.

Urge to play, rising.
