A Solid Foundation: What Comes Next?

    Hey everyone!

If you’re reading this, then it means you’re done reading the last chapter of A Solid Foundation. If not, then you should definitely go do that first. Go on. I’ll wait.

I have some thoughts I want to share about writing this story and what comes next but, it all can come after the line break.

If you finished reading Secondhand Laughter, then you're probably wondering what's next? Or maybe you're not. Maybe you read it and you're about ready for me to stop writing.

Well, this blog post has something to make either of you happy.

Do you think of me? (Poem)

Is it hate or is it disgust when you think of me? If you think of me at all. I wonder if the past still lives in you—the way it grips in me. Or did it die, forever long? And, if so, did anyone take time to grieve?

Vocal Cover · 6:24am Dec 28th, 2012

So I'm trying to become a better singer.

It's probably something I should've done a while ago, but I was honestly content just playing guitar, or drums, or keyboard, or bass. My comfort zone was in instruments, knowing that as long as I practiced my part I would be good to go. Guitars don't get sick, keyboards don't go off pitch, and you don't have to train to increase the range of a bass. That changed recently though when my band lost our singer. I had wanted to learn to sing for a while, but it didn't seem necessary, until I tried replacing the singer I lost. It made me realize that not being able to fill in was a huge oversight, considering I wrote the music and they were my songs. As such, I am doing vocal covers and singing more hoping that I'll get better at them. Some of them.. actually a lot of them, are going to be pony related because if I have to sing it might as well be about something fun. I'm also not very good yet and I hope the fanbase will be forgiving, since some of my idols in the fandom are great musicians but not great singers (livingtombstone for example). Anyway, here's my first attempt at singing:

It is "The Moon Rises" by ponyphonic. I'm nowhere near as good as him and I would recommend people check out his version (link is in the description of the video). Still, I hope you enjoy it, whoever you may be.
