It's the obligatory new year blog post.

And yes, I am posting this at around midnight on new year. I have a nasty cold, so I decided to disobey nurgle's one command and stay home.

    Just for kicks

I'm mucking around with Lulu for a work-related project (very boring stuff) and thought I would do a quality test with something fun.

    The odd things

I've just been reading through old comments on my scraps story, after publishing yet another chunk from the ancient cutting room floor. It's remarkable how many of the commenters are still around - but also how many logged off for the last time, soon after making their last comment there.

    But in brighter news

While I'm not making any promises about any particular project here, I am actually writing again. I figure if I write enough of something, some pony words might drop out somewhere along the line as well. You never know. What I'm working on at the moment is essentially a re-write of a story I read a long time ago; an old pulp sci-fi tale, about a spaceship that manages to get lost in the

The obligatory merry post · 12:12am Dec 26th, 2012

I am merry.

Swag!

I did a review for Xenophilia because I was a little bored (on christmas, go figure). I tried to be fair, but I am terribly biased.

Also, I just made myself cry tears of happy writing the latest chapter of Guiding Light (which is about Princess Derpy, if you weren't aware). She ain't as klutzy as she looks... but now I worry that I've made her too wonderfully perfect. On the other hand, Dinky is adorable. Of course, that's not going to be published until much later, because it's not finished and needs pre-reading. It's entering its next phase though, from a single arc establishing Derpy's reign to a set of vignettes and bouncing back and forth as I come up with ideas for things.

For obvious reasons the Star Sparkle story isn't up yet. Give it a few more days. :D

Aaaand... merry, I am, because I've polished off almost a quarter of a bottle of whisky in the last hour. Expensive whisky, not the cheap rotgut most people think of, but the real deal. It helps me write, especially here in the most inspiring country in the world: Sweden. I've written another 2000 words on Star, for instance, in the last two days. I think that's quite good, don't you? Not a pace I can keep up for long, though.

Have yourselves a very merry christmas. God jul och ett gott nytt år!

There is one point in your review I don't agree with: Xenophilia is NOT an anthropology porn. It's much more than that. I would say, it's closer to anthropology erotica. For me, there is a huge difference between those two. Let me quote SecondTalon:

Erotica is a fine set of jeweler's tools, to carefully cut and divide. Fine, delicate work that takes skill.
Pornography is a sledgehammer, to shatter as quickly as possible. Pretty much anyone can do it.

Other than that - I think you've nailed it!
