Wanderer's Diary: Week Ten. · 10:58pm Dec 24th, 2012

The Capital Wasteland's own Psychotic Saviour finally has a chance to work out his daddy issues, in this, Wanderer's Diary: Week Ten.

In this chapter: Tenpenny Tower, Project Purity, and a serial killer slips up.

I'm sorry for those of you annoyed by getting so many blog post notifications from me lately. There will be one more for Christmas day tomorrow, and probably another if my new story isn't published on the same day, but after that I'll tone it down and we can get back to our regular programming.

How come you did Fallout 3 instead of New Vegas? Is our Lone Wanderer going to trade his life for being a Courier?

Because Fallout 3 came first. And required significantly less planning than Vegas will demand.

646983 Yeah, with New Vegas you have to worry about a dynamic plot, factions, and a more in depth wasteland justice system. Our Lone Wanderer wouldn't make it very long out there before the legion went after him.

646993

This Lone Wanderer would be right at home in the Mojave. Far less trash like ghouls and raiders to worry about. All his enemies would be a worthy challenge, and there would be no shortage of them for when he starts feeling jittery and needs to take a knife to someone's crotch.

Now the Courier is a different ball game altogether. You need a keen eye to spot it, but they do have distinct personality differences, regardless of karmic path.

647015 The Courier seems like he would be a little less open about his psychotic fits, seeing as he's grown up in the wasteland.

647021

The Courier probably wouldn't be quite as psychologically damaged as the Lone Wanderer, even with those repressed memories. He might not even have such problems.

But I'm going to save the rest of my take on the Courier as a character for now. That'll have to wait until Courier's Diary.

647035 I can't wait! Merry Christ-Mass!

So you ARE going to do New Vegas as well? Hype.

Also, I had no idea about that pedophilia thing in Rivet City. Wow.

It's sort of a joke about how things can happen with NPCs. Dr. Li's bed is unowned, so after she leaves Rivet City, random NPCs from around the city like Bannon can just decide to sleep in that bed, even though the door is locked. And it's a double bed. So sometimes, you'll open the locked door to Dr. Li's room, and find two random NPCs from around Rivet City were sleeping together in that same bed. And because the Fallout games include children for some ungodly reason...

It's not actually canon or anything, it's just the game programming accidentally creating a situation with horrifying implications. The video I linked was showcasing that. I thought it was too hilarious to not add in somehow.
