I feel like this website has lost its charm over the years. Ever since G4 ended, the traffic on this site has taken quite a tumble. Also, is it just me, or do stories get very little attention nowadays? If you agree, then please elaborate on your thoughts.
As someone who hasn't been in the fandom for that long, I'm not sure if I can make a comment without sounding like a dumbass; however, I'm going to at least try to explain, in my opinion, why the site has lost its popularity. I feel like the main reason why this site has lost a lot of people is because of the of the G4 ending, which was by far the most popular series and generation of MLP ever. Another reason is that G5, for the most part, has been a bit of a failure. My ass is lucky that I even got into the fandom since I watched an iceberg video of all things about the show, which made me interested in it.
For views on stories, I feel like story views depend on what genre you're writing for. like bro, Anon stories and M rated stories are the key ticket to farm views to be honest. But at the end of the day, you shouldn't let views discourage you from writing.

I agree with Ben here in why the site is slowing down a bit, but my advice is to write what you like to write and not worry about farming views.
Sure, of course people actually reading your stories is important, but you should never write something that you don't enjoy yourself.

Basically, again, what Ben said. There were probably many fans who stuck around from the beginning of the show, and then left when it was over.
Seems to be a bit different for those who found it later, like me.
And I think I may have actually been a Brony longer than Ben. That's really interesting.
As someone who’s been here since 2012, I can definely say it has. There’s probably a number of reasons, but like Benjovi and Tape Deck already said, I think it’s almost certainly because the MLP show ending in 2019 is the main reason as many people probably lost interest in the fandom and this site too at the same time unfortunately, and that was almost 5 years ago.
