A Quick YouTube Note · 9:06pm March 3rd
So, apparently, YouTube changed some code a while back that made it so that viewers who were using third-party resources to avoid ads or whatever didn't have their watches counting towards whatever videos they watched.
Understand, this didn't affect the viewers themselves. It wasn't punitive towards third-party program users. But it did / does have the side effect that whoever they watched wasn't getting credit for their views.
I know at least some of my gentle viewers and listeners use such software. Which in a way is comforting, because that implies that people are at least still getting my content. But it still means that my videos' exposure is getting buried due to low view count.
So, if you are using third-party software to watch YouTube, please update it as soon as those updates are available.
I want to be able one day to make a real difference with charity drives and the like, but in order to do that I need my channel to be much bigger.
And my channel can only grow with your support.
Thank you.
