I think the mark of a good piece of media is one that hits differently depending on when you consume it. Like how when you watch A Goofy Movie and as a kid you sympathize with Max and then when you watch it older you see more of Goofy's perspective. Or like how when you watch Shrek 2 as an adult it's still funny, but different parts are funny for different reasons (the union part, for example).
Friendship is Magic is similar. Part of the draw for me at first was seeing an introvert go out and successfully make friends (something I still struggle with). And now I think it's cool that they have a world where your destiny / special talent appears in pictogram form on your flank.
On a very related side note, I'm no longer employed. I knew it was coming for a while now (I am by all criteria a horrible salesman), so I've been preparing accordingly and so I'm not strapped for cash at the moment. The benefits and schedule were great, but it just wasn't a good fit for me. Honestly, the only real surprise was that I managed to squeak by for another month and a half with the numbers I was putting up.
Actually, no. A bigger surprise was that I felt relieved when that final judgement came down. Like, I should have felt a little more freaked out, I think. Nervous. Like a failure (it is my first time getting fired, after all). But I just felt lighter. Even happier, almost.
And I don't think my meds are quite that good. Honestly, I've been thinking about asking for an increase. But I failed my EKG so I have to do that follow-up on that first. Healthcare is weird. Not really a fan.
So where do I go next? I don't know. I feel a little like the early CMCs, full of potential and not sure what to try next, but still hopeful for the future.
And hey, it's almost Christmas!
Anyway, writing is going slowly, and I'm visiting family for a couple weeks so nothing's coming out soon, either; but I'm not dead. I've also been working a bit on my doom mod, after not touching it for a few months. Inspiration is weird, too.

I was fired once - also right before Christmas. It was the best thing to ever happen to me.

Also, yes, inspiration sure is weird. I watched some anime recently and got fired up for a crossover story idea of mine.
