    Computer Problems, possibly Fixed?

    So a short while back my old XP Machine, which I'm using as an "Archival Computer" for things like pictures, word documents, and playing older non-Steam games, had a crash were the hard drive holding the OS for it kicked the bucket. So here's the story behind that;

    Four Scrapped Ideas for High Seas of Adventure

    When I first started writing High Seas there were a number of ideas and concepts that ultimately didn't pan out and I've forgotten most of them, but here are Four I do remember;

    Trailer for an upcoming High Seas Chapter

    A long time ago now I did a little teaser for a now-posted chapter of High Seas of Adventure, so I figured why not do another.

    Razor and Apollo stared at the map in disbelief, not wanting to believe what they were seeing, but there was no denying it.

What's going to be going on in the future · 8:47am Dec 7th, 2023

Hey everyone, while this years was just *bleh* for me and as a result not many chapters for my stories came out, but sadly "Real Life writes the Plot" is a Trope for a reason. But I've got some positive news this time;

So while I had said there would likely be no more chapters for my stories this year in the latest for Dragonfly Hive, I'v actually got a little one-shot Holiday story staring Sliver Flame and his family in-progress right now and I'm hoping to have it out by Christmas but no promises on that. I also will be releasing a Trailer Blog for High Seas at some point in the near-future, which will well tease one of the major parts I have planned and to give a little tease: The part takes place in a area of the Sea of Legends known and feared by all its inhabitants, a region known as the "Void" or some times the "Deep Abyss".

Another bit of news to share is I might not be quite as active next year during the Spring and Summer, however this time it's because of something my Dad and I will be doing together. You see; my dad owns an old 1987 Ford f250 pick-up truck that he used a long time ago. The engine sadly gave out, can't remember what happened off the top of my head, but he parked the truck in the yard to get back to it and fix it... and it sat in that same spot for 20+ years.

Now we were going to sell it, but in truth I didn't feel right selling it, since as far as I'm concerned it's practically a family heirloom at this point (it belong to my Grandpa who gave it to my dad), and spoke up... and it turns out dad wasn't wanting to sell it either.

So, we'll instead be restoring it! :raritystarry:

Now at this time we don't know the true extent of the damage from it sitting for so long, as far as we can tell it looks like it's not as bad as it could have been. Then again; those old trucks were built like tanks so it's likely a number of this are still good, we had to move it recently for something and it rolled smoothly, but as I said we won't know until we take the truck apart. It's likely going to be a slow project since we're essentially rebuilding it from the ground up, but for one it give me and my dad something to do together, and for another once its restored, Dad will be giving it to me. :pinkiehappy:

So this coming Spring and Summer are going to be interesting, wish us luck on the truck. I know it's likely going to take a few years at least to fully restore it, but I'm really looking forward to ding it with my dad.

Good luck buddy.

Your story about the truck reminds me of an old Autozone commercial, where this guy finds an old, beaten up truck on the side of the road with a sign saying 'If you can fix her, you can have her.' And the guy kept biking back and forth between Autozone and the truck until he managed to fix the truck up enough to drive it to Autozone and finish the repairs there.

I hope your work on your own truck goes well. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. :pinkiehappy:👍

I remember that one, and I can see the similarities. Only in my case it's in my own yard. :twilightsmile:

I'm hoping so too, now so far one issue I see is the windshield which on these old trucks is curved so most likely that's gonna be a custom order and so a little pricey. But I believe it will be worth it in the end as those vehicles can be worth a far amount, especially since this one has a few pieces that can no longer be found; one of which is the exhaust pipe ends on the running broads. From what my dad has told me, the company who made those went out of business a long time ago, back when he was still young, at least I think.

Now I'm probably just going to drive it in the summer and maybe use it for heavy carrying, bit wary of leaving it parked while I'm inside a store or something in town for various reasons. However, I can see myself displaying it in those car shows at some point.

Now that's all for future me to worry about, but never hurts to have some plans for when the time comes. :twilightsmile:

Good luck on the restoration, as well as everything else.

Yep. They may say no plan survives contact with reality, but at the very least, they give a foothold and a place to start.

And the best plans are the ones that can be adapted and adjusted.

I’m confident you’ll find a way to adjust your plans, and figure out a way forward.

Good luck, buddy. :twilightsmile:
